Yeah club and international football is very different, and a tournament is a short period of time

Looking at defensive frailties, and getting trent on. Revert to the 3 at the back. Walker, Stones and Guehi. Experience and pace. Stones xan drift into midfield sometimes Teent at R/wing back. Tripper or maybe Gorden as Left back. Middle, Rice and Bellingham Front 3, Saka, Kanr and Foden..

Yeah this. Not an england supporter, but this is a very simple fix to all englands issues. If you had a good goalie you'd be unbeatable, awful manager or not

Just to remind everyone that MINGS and TRIPPIER started on the left side of defense in the last euros. Maguire came back in the 3rd game, Shaw in the second game. We didn't concede until the semi final. Stop this defense nonsense already!

Trent great passer but dreadful at marking especially at corners,just watch Liverpool games,ball watches and no determination to win challenges.i wish it was not so if he got better at that part of his game he could be a real top player

You could say the same about pirlo, Scholes, Xavi, Alonso, Modric. None of them were great defensively. Trent is actually better than any of them at tackles and interceptions. But you would still build a team around them.

@@martinkerrmusic Pirlo, Xavi and Alonso are in different league to Trent, which might suggest you're just trolling.. Scholes weren't technically good at tackling but he did it when he had to and didn't shirk challenges like Trent. Modric is super intelligent and certainly not worse at interceptions than Trent. Modric's movement is a class apart from Trent, who stands and looks for killer balls and that's it.. None of the players you mentioned lacked effort, bravery or work ethics. But don't let us to stop you from enjoying youtube clips of Trent's successful 50 yard passes! Just don't spout nonsense about proper midfielders.. or who am I kidding.. it's youtube :)

Everyone assumes that Mainoo is going to shore up our defense.. well, he's not as atrocious as Trent and not as weak, but he does lose focus in defense and let 'his' players run in on goal or fail to close down players..
