It’s Watkins’ signature move, he’s so good at it. Makes me feel less mad that he hasn’t been played so much so far because it means England are so much more unpredictable than other teams. We’ve shit all tournament, played our cards close to our chest and kept our biggest weapons on the bench. Switched formation mid tournament. Adapted slightly in every game and neutralised our opponents’ biggest strengths each time. It gives me some hope for the final, but I have to stay pessimistic so I don’t experience heartbreak I guess

An actual deserved win. Nuance in opinion is lost these days. Have England been worse than netherlands so far? Yes. Were they better today? Yes. Dutch just didn't turn up. Foden off the line, disallowed goal for England too. They weren't 5 star barcelona but they were better today.

i’d give kane 45 minutes in the final to prove he can do something, if he isn’t in the game or only has touches deep take him off for watkins at half time or the 60th minute cus the movement of a forward has been missed so much. Saka, foden, jude and kane all like the ball to feet and like to run with it there’s no one who’s instinct is to go in behind

Let’s be real, the England football fan environment has never been the most welcoming to people of Adam’s background. Or maybe you don’t realise because you didn’t grow up with it or experience it yourself, but as a child I was terrified of England fans because they were so racist to my family. It’s different now and I love this country and love the England team, but for many people older than me who spent their whole lives being told they weren’t English and to go back to where they came from and being assaulted by EDL flag waver types, it’s hard to feel overly positive about it all and I don’t blame them. Don’t worry though, I think it’s definitely a generational thing. Kids growing up these days won’t have the same issues and will definitely back England (much easier than it used to be anyway, considering England are actually good these days)

it’s easy to say this in hindsight cus watkins scored but i think he brought him on to get in behind, different games need different profiles of players and we kept having space in behind them but no one to do it whereas against slovakia for example we just passed around their box so we needed a target man so toney was better. The main argument for toney is that he is also great at pens whereas watkins has a dodgy record, we could always bring toney on for watkins with a minute to go in extra time or leave watkins on and take off a defender

@@alistairsmith5389get a grip. Don’t act like large swathes of the population would never agree with him being English. Most people his age grew up with a lot of racism directed at them from people waving the St George. I never used to understand it either but after hearing from other people who grew up in places like Birmingham in those days (I think Adam is from Birmingham too), I get it. Why would they feel that kind of love for a country that always saw them as outsiders? You can’t expect them to have that kind of loyalty when they’re not included in the first place. Walk into the wrong pub these days and you still get dirty looks. Don’t get me wrong, I think this country has come a long way and is far less racist than other countries, but a lot of that progress has been made relatively recently. Younger generations born in England will not have the same problems as their parents and that is a good thing. They’ll wear their England shirts with pride and we just have to see that as progress.
