Why are fans being so negative and angry!? Come on, Burt. This isn't about an election or a crap summer - this is about the fact that England *didn't have a shot on target* until the 95th min against Slovakia, a country with the population of just over half of London. They didn't look like they knew how to play football. Southgate can go on and on about the great 'goal' that Foden scored - it's not good enough, he was miles offside. And that was pretty much the only other chance England created. All the fans are desperate for England to do well and to support the side - this is a great group of players in every sense, no one is criticising them even. They're clearly being coached against their every instinct, against everything they do at club level. The anger is directed specifically at Southgate's tactical incompetence. Also, man management and media sweet talk mean nothing if you can't motivate your team to beat Slovakia, who are 49th in the world, in the knockout round of the Euros. It took Bellingham's pure talent to get the win. Before that, England passed stiffly around the back and tried to find space with static players. They say madness is repeating the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

I think they forget that we watch this for entertainment value!! Not to be bored! And the frustrating thing is we all know we’ve got the players to make it more attacking attractive football!

In the UK there are a lot of angry people. It's any excuse to vent. Football is one avenue. Let them vent, throw their beer, berate Southgate. Will they hold their heroes accountable? Give credit to Foden, he took responsibility for his subdued showing. I hope he can turn things round.

Fans are angry because following your team costs them... Do people in football not understand that the average fan has to save and sacrifice in order to follow and support their team. I find the response to their anger and criticism from the England camp pretty disrespectful. They get paid to perform and then they moan when the people who enable that get justifiably upset. Mind-boggling.

Sometimes it's what you choose NOT to do that determines success. Not picking underperforming stars fits into this category.

Two coming disasters - Switzerland will beet the country with the best players, and the worse manager. Second disaster is Ten Haag another year. When will the Premier league understand that Dutch Managers is not the solution, due to their inbred national arrogance. Dutch are ok when they are not at the top, but a pain in the backside when in charge. I talk about 40 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
