Much better? We looked terrible vs Slovakia .. Semi was the only game we looked good and moving to 3 at the back along with Kobbie and Foden as a pure number 10 has all contributed. Southgate has to get a lot of credit for consistently trying to change it to get better performances .. he could of stuck with the system that got us through the group and just hoped we played better . Instead he changed it mid tournament so fair play

Gary needs to stop making up rules, it isn't about what he thinks is right or wrong, it is about what's in the rule book. Uefa released a statement saying it was the correct decision based on the following: - Rules set by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) The rule states: “It is committed with an opponent nearby and prevents the opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury. “Playing in a dangerous manner involves no physical contact between the players. I agree with Neville on the penalty. First and foremost, if that’s given against us I’d be absolutely fuming about it. You can’t stop defenders from trying to block those shots, they already have to try and run around with their arms behind their backs, it’s getting ridiculous!

Ian saying it's pointless talking about the penalty? Well, that is the main talking point and the turning point of the game. If it was given against England then I expect him to talk about it for 30 min. It's not an clear and obvious error. The game is getting re-refereed and the game as a result is not as good as they used to be.

Settle down little buddy, they gave him credit for the first half of 1 game. Its really not that deep at all.

The sympathy and empathy for 'Gareth' is mind-boggling. "Feel sorry for him", "he has to stay whether we win/lose", "its his decision". I wish pundits would remove their emotions based on the nationality of players/managers. If this was a foreign manager he would be scrutinized and crisitised much more severely. Maybe England can win this time riding on all that luck, but with this mentality its no wonder they'v never been successful despite having an amazing squad.

As always great episode! But feel like a little bit of denoise could be used, lot of background hiss which I'm surprised at as production quality is usually very high.

I could watch these people banter about anything. They are funny, supportive and relaxed.

The fact people are this confident we'll beat Spain is insane. We've played absolutely abysmally all tournament and Spain have been on it since day 1.

Southgate will never get the credit, no matter what happens. Because people are too fixed on their opinions of him. But getting to 2 finals in a row and semifinal out of four tournaments when your country hasn’t been in a semi-final for over two decades is a crazy level of consistency. Any other international team in the world, apart from two or three would crave that kind of consistency. England fans just need to enjoy this. They are in a privileged position.

He won't get credit because it's not really deserved. When it comes to achievements context matters. If you want to compare him to past managers and their performances fine. But look at the things surrounding those past managers. The difficulty of the groups, the routes to finals and the strength of the opposition. In the 20+ years prior to Southgate. Look at Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands. Then compared to now, they're shells of their former selves we have a far better squad on paper than all those teams with the exception of France. In the 25 years Prior to Southgate 7 or those 8 teams won a international trophy.

Best sub appearance is undoubtedly the Euro ‘96 final and Oliver Bierhoff! Scored the equaliser and the winner. Not surprised the English don’t speak of this much though 😂
