They English way of life he refers too is disappearing... Mass migration has turned many of the major cities into something very much not English.
George Orwell has a documentary called “a life in pictures” …he helped me understand that being from England means something culturally and I can articulate myself better to other Americans from Europe who cliticize my conduct at work (humble not weak), in neighborhoods (not waving out of respect/rude to them)..i live in the northeastern region. I’m English so I’d rather not say.

My ancestors came here with the Virginia company a very long time ago. Imagine the confusion of not knowing about culture and dna. I was so excited to learn that I’m a “wasp”. My family and friends are not as excited to talk about being a wasp.

We have a very “kitsch “ lawyer here who has a lot of power in family/probate courts….he was born in England and obviously not a hereditary lord. He is also a local politician/candadate. My advice to England is to keep the House of Lords and come over here. We need to preserve our options.

He spoke twenty years ago perhaps, and was considered a sage and might as well not have spoken, for all that he was not heard by authority:nor are the rest of us, or ever shall be and thus we know that there is no salvation in mankind, either in the prophet or the king.
