Everton has a far better squad this season compared to Norwich last season tho so I think if their team plays consistently, we can see more goals from Calvert Lewin. Also, Everton has been impressive in the PL so far.

Gavin, don't get excited as it's only a friendly. He'll revert back to his dumb selections across the back 4 and midfield when the going gets tough. English Coaches lack depth and are too scared to take risks

As a United Fan, I am glad the likes of Rashford, Maguire and Greenwood aren't here. They need to learn something about consistency; big names and big clubs don't make a cohesive team. From a welsh fan, can’t say I’m impressed with our performance but still neither disappointed. Our only experienced player last night was Ben Davies and he still encouraged the team to play well. Unfortunately after England’s easy comfort goal from shocking aerial defence we just gave in. Props to England’s youngsters with Jack Grealish, hard player to manipulate and control.

Does Southgate hate him or something? I don't know the full story but alot of people have mentioned this.

I know this is a friendly and that it doesn't necessarily mean England will do well at the Euros (which doesn't matter to me, personally), but it is nice to see Southgate benching some of those players for their behaviours. I personally can't stand how many of these players think they are above the rules that apply to everyone else. I understand where this sense of entitlement might come from, but nevertheless, I can't stand it. Also nice to see some slugs like Maguire not on the field. My opinion is that England have tended to field teams comprised of big name players on big contracts regardless if they are on form. That seems to indicate that public pressure dictates mostly who plays. They should always field a team of who is hot at the time (with a reasonable sample size of their work having been observed).

Trouble is you can’t just expect players to work together with barely any playing time together, so while I agree with benching big names you also need at least a core of players who remain the same(not Maguire tho)

If you watch Kalvin Phillips play in depth, The reason he is slightly slower on the ball is because he constantly scanning(Looking) for passes a bit like someone like Iniesta or Xavi. He also does this when he doesn't have the ball so that when he receives it he knows where all his teammates are positioned and where the opposition is located allowing him to pick the perfect pass. The work he does off the ball is insane, constantly repositioning and trying to find passing lanes and pockets in the midfield. I recommend you watch this video on Iniesta(Look up Iniesta scanning or something like that)he scans like 20 times for different passes in half a minute.
