The first game was infinite too, but it was a constant floor, and you had only solid shapez with all 4 quadrants. Orientation also mattered in that game on shape goal, so lots of improvements in the sequel. Too bad he didn't get to the paint part, because as someone following the development, the paint is treated as a liquid in this game and requires pipes instead of belts.

@@MalfunctionNeo of course, how could I forget that. Also, now that I've played most of the demo, it looks like paint might be only in the full game. Something very cool I noticed that I don't know of hardly any other factory game has done, you can make an elevator as a corner piece. You can actually have the shape at a block at 1 level and leave and another, in ANY direction. Including the direction it came. I don't know what instances would call for it to double-back, but it's cool what you can fit into 1 tile. Edit: Satisfactory comes to mind for elevators, but I don't know if those allow 90 direction changes, or if it's just continue or reverse.

I can tell you exactly what the camera angle thing is about: Frustum culling, or rather the absence of it because they couldn't be bothered (at least for the demo), instead they cull geometry in the most simple way possible: If it's not on the current grid, don't draw it. Works if and only if you have a limit on how shallow the angle can get or you'd spoil the illusion. I see fog or heavy haze in this game's future because you really don't want to draw far away stuff, serves no purpose.
