I think I already know how you set the tightening force with a torque wrench. The service manual specifies the tightening torque of the sump drain plug with range: 29.4 ~ 39.2 Nm. The average value between 30 and 40 is 35 Nm But you forgot one thing ... ... remove the spider's web from the engine ;-)

Why there’s a need to remove oil filler cap before draining? Does it not make sense to keep it closed so no debris can fall inside the oil tank? Thanks

  • @screwsnutsandbolts

The workshop manual instructions advised taking off the filler cap before draining the oil. You could probably leave it loosely covering the filler hole if there was any risk of debris getting into the hole.

Owner of ak12. Just watched your video. Regret to say that the engine is very dirty. Has not been cleaned and maintained and not pleasant to look at. Simple appliances of wd 40 and other similar products would have given a better appearance. I do it and I'm sure thousands do it. Without any offence. Salaam.
