As always, awesome video, perfectly explained. In case of Nissans after changing spark plugs, it's recommend to also change the ignition coil boots (Denso 671-6303) instead of rhe entire coil if it's still working good.

Thank you! Great explanation. I’m currently having knock (that I can hear anyway) at lower RPMs in my 5.0 f-150. Usually stops after about 2-3 seconds but doesn’t occur if I drive super light like a grandma. Just got a check engine light after about a week of noticing the sounds. Will definitely be using higher octane fuel once this 87 gas runs down below 1/4 tank

very very helpful. I hear it sometimes in my Volvo with a Ford Ecoboost 1.6 turbo... when I accelerate at full boost, and only maybe for a second or two and then not for the whole day. Stock car. Would that be detonation?

I downloaded the app on my iPhone and I am about to record/perform my first data log. I'll have some questions about what I will be viewing.

So I was hoping to pick your brain, After installing my s/c my check engine light came on. My tuner said it should cycle itself out. OBD tool read 3 things 2 did finally go away but the third P050B cold start code wont go away. After some research it could be a number of things. I was curious if you had any engine codes pop up after installing your kit. This is driving me crazy 😵‍💫 I've tried the push the pedal 5 times, stand on your head , wait 5 seconds do 15 jumping jacks , jump back in press the pedal 5 more times trick and no luck getting it to stop flashing. Wondering if you have any advise you could share. Love your videos !! You're the reason I chose the Top Guns kit!! 😎👍

Brilliant video man. Going to check my spark plugs that I recently installed (although the noise happened even before then) and start filling with premium. Hoping it stops there obviously haha. Only rattles on highway on-ramps. Coolant flushed and filled, no leaks of any kind, oil or otherwise. New PCV valve, Map sensor cleaned, new filters, ignition coils. Tried catalytic converter cleaner😂😭....I digress Very logical and concise explanation. Helped get me pointed in the right direction.

My G37s 6mt has sluggish acceleration like as if the engine is struggling to produce power above 3.5K RPM. I can never take it above that easily without feeling like something is making the engine resist my demand for more power through the accelerator pedal. If I floor it, it’s not a quick motion, the engine just gets louder and vibrations are more tense and the RPM’s doesn’t really move relative to my throttle increase. It’s very strange and mechanics I’ve went to don’t know understand what I trying to explain to them. I replaced the spark plugs a while ago gapped at 0.41. I also have non res test pipes. Do I need a tune or something?

Certainly data logging wjat's going on with the car would help understand what is going in, you could see if the car is pulling timing.

Have you cleaned your TBs. Also make sure you get OEM plugs that already come pregapped.

So, I just completed my first data log with ecutek connect. I found out that the Illinois State Troopers are not fond of data logging. Who knew? I tried to explain what a pull was, but I ended up having to pull out my license and registration. Now I have to figure out what to do with the file.

@@brianjackson5732 you can still graph without the proecu application. Excel can accomplish it with the correct inputs, graph, etc. A little more tedious but possible. The app just does it for you.

It is not easy to hear. And the engines make a lot of noise from the factory to begin with.

I can't hear it either! I never could, and I know I have because sometimes when I'm flooring it my Engine Service Soon light turns ON and the accelerator pedal becomes unresponsive as well until it automatically clears. I tried to scan it in that brief moment it turns on (I had everything ready to tap DTC tool) and nothing. At least thats a way to notice knock even if we can't hear it
