Non ci avevo mai pensato! La qualità é ottima, hai avuto una bella idea! Saluti
Nice job! Among others i have flown the Diamond Katana DV-20 for a long time in Germany. :) It's a famous Aircraft and good for some simple Aerobatics. Very easy to handle and a nice fun-plane. All the best from Germany.
Wow, what a beautiful place to fly. So jealous....
Planes can still fly with no engine operating. The DA40 can glide at least 1.4 miles for every 1000ft of altitude lost. Also in this case, the engine is not actually failed or shut off. It's a simulated procedure, where the engine throttle is reduced to idle until the instructor on board says otherwise.
Yes, the engine failure excercice was a glide all the way down to the gras runway. All the best
bel video complimenti!
Ciao
Aplause......:):):) wonderful landing
bel video! prima!
@2698015 It's a DA40TDI, Kind regards from the Italian part of Switzerland
I'd love to have the same instructor!
It's not an actual engine failure: they're just simulating the emergency
Bello! Come avete fatto a registrare le voci?
@DCar1986 Thats weird I can usually tell the difference XD
looks identical to the DA42 twin starcockpit

Not much has changed it appears in the cockpit avionics . Very similar to what they have today right?
@Dominoes282 Actually they're German
i don't see any engine faelure. the propillar was still moving fast. if there was a engine faelure the plane wuld have crashed all ready.

I'm four years late, but just so you know, this was a simulated failure (engine was on idle - not really producing any power, but the propeller still spins, yes). Regardless, even if the failure was real, the plane would glide the same exact way it did in this video, and they would've been able to do the same thing. Planes don't just crash right away when the engine dies - they glide down at a reasonable rate. Of course, you'd hope that your altitude is high enough to make it to a nearby airport or field, but you don't just fall to the ground immediately.
They are from switzerland, so probably are speaking german.
