So, the Northwestern Railway does actually have a uniform color, it's just not enforced. It's the reason why Thomas, Edward, Gordon and (in RWS canon only) the Caledonian Twins were painted blue with red lining and yellow numbering. They probably didn't have a preference on color, so they just adopted the railway's default livery.

Well, I have an AU with a friend and we made some NWR standard liveries: Goods Blue, Goods Green (no lining), Passenger Blue, Passenger Red (lining) and Express Blue (lining on frames and engine).

That is an AU too because there is no page or line in the RWS confirming blue as the main livery. Maybe the engines just like it more and every engine can decide whatever colour it wants to be.

@@BoxtankEngine No, we literally see that most of the early NWR engines in RWS, including unnamed background characters, are painted blue with red outline and boiler stripes. Henry was an exception and James came in later and was painted red at his request as a pick-me-up after his accident. Later engines that arrived on the NWR retained their original liveries from their home railways. So there IS canon evidence that blue with red outline and boiler stripes is the ORIGINAL NWR livery, even if the NWR didn't require all engines to use it.

ok i know this has nothing to do with the episode directly but how do people get to the other platforms at Knapford besides the one Edward was at (5:09).

Idea for a story: Dudley. Year: 1966. One day, because no other engines are available (after all, Tyler was pulling the Flying Kipper, Edward and Henry were pulling local passenger trains, Gordon had his express and stuff), the Fat Controller asked James to take a freight train. Nonetheless, the trucks were in a bad mood. Stanley had been bumping them because they wouldn't behave and to punish them for spreading rumours about him years ago. The vengeful trucks instead took it out on James and pushed him into a field. With one less engine, Sir Topham Hatt asked Dudley - a steam engine from the Other Railway - to help. He did so but was pretty rude to Boco who had arrived probably a year before. He told lies about Gordon and Henry to the trucks and blamed Boco. Sir Topham Hatt was very angry when he discovered the ugly truth and sent Dudley back to the Other Railway where he eventually got scrapped. Due to a negative experience with Devious Diesel lying about Duck spreading lies among the trucks - even though they should have known better - Henry and Gordon had been pretty savage to Boco. After James found out, he came back from the works to scold Henry and Gordon about jumping to conclusions.

How come Henry doesn't have his tappered firebox on his model, is it a variant in the model pack by wildnorwester or something else? Just curious.

It's just a standard one withoút a face. Since the it's an LMS section, they would send additional engines down to be stationed at Brendam

You call the W&S livery brown….what? It’s maroon. How and where the hell did you get brown from? The coaches are a wood colour if anything, lined in maroon. And on the engines, IE Adam, Collin and Lilly, they’re all wearing maroon
