The best Chinese drama I've watched until now. It makes you laugh, get angry, cry and love this naive girl that is really sweet. I am a fan of Ren and this is his best performance, he is really a good actor.

Me too. I, an American, only watched a handful of Chinese TV dramas. Yet I have watched this series more than once. :) The male lead is a great actor. The supporting actors (Both male and female) are also very good.

3weeks of non stop rewatching this drama.I am super in love to Ren and Seven in this drama.They acted so natural.There is no a lot of kissing but still they have shown love and sweetness to each other 's character.Holding hands,hugs and eye to eye caress are so sweet to captures heart of the viewer.

I am here again for ALLEN REN ❤❤❤❤, such a great actor. I love his facial expressions very much , he can convey everything just by his eyes he don't need to use his mouth for conveying. UNDER THE POWER is really worth watching, very good drama with great cast 😊😊.

And the actors from leading to supporting, what a team! Superb job by Ren Jialun (Lu Yi), Sevn Tan (Jin Xia) even (edit)loved evil Xi Fan 🤣 So much attention to details that after watching this drama, when I watch other dramas now I have same high expectations🤣 but they fall short 🤭

I've watched The Sword and the Brocade. Loved it and fell in love with Tan Songyun. I watched The Fox's Summer 1 & 2, and I loved it too. So, seeing how great she was, I then watched UTP. This is now the best Songyun series for me. She's such a joy to watch in every scene from drama, comedy, action, and romance. She also has great chemistry with all her male co-stars. I'm a solid Xiao Zhan-only-fan, but I have learned to appreciate Wallace and now Allen through her. Songyun has a refreshing way of delivering her lines, and her gestures and facial expressions are always on point. I think she's naturally extremely pretty and cute! Phenomenal talent that needs more respect and appreciation.

Since Nov 2000 we paid TVB overseas yearly subscriptions as we like to watch Hong Kong Cantonese series. Recently they have broadcasted more China mandarin series instead of Cantonese. This year I just started to watch it on youtube as I can read and write mandarin. We will stop our TVB subscription from next year.

Have watched hundreds of historical dramas. The character Lu Yi portrayed by Ellen has a special place in my heart. Feel real and perfect. The slow burn romance and the love building is the best among all the dramas I have watched. The script is also very well written.

I'm addicted to this drama. If i am bored i watch Under the Power. Well-written script and excellent acting from the cast esoecially Tang Songyun and Allen Ren.
Ren Jialun really shines in this series. I have seen him in Detective Dee and The Destiny of the White Snake and that I did not even remember him. Nothing stood out. But in this series, man!, he is the most memorable and his performance is mesmerizing. Needless to say he looks extremely hot in those uniforms!

看了一半左右，女主做的很好👍，導演選角也十分恰當👍
好劇看不膩，歌曲更是好聽，一刷再刷
百看不厭佳片，歌曲詞美，聲唱動聴🤩
不知道回來第幾次了，新劇總是看得不過癮，又要跑回來看，最近的新劇也是讓人興致缺缺，這對C P感太強，連任嘉倫演的慕白首都覺得沒感，看來只能是這對CP主演才行。這段時間都在看以前的戲。看來再不出點好戲，真是跳不出來了。

The best Chinese drama I've watched until now. It makes you laugh, get angry, cry and love this naive girl that is really sweet. I am a fan of Ren and this is his best performance, he is really a good actor.

Me too. I, an American, only watched a handful of Chinese TV dramas. Yet I have watched this series more than once. :) The male lead is a great actor. The supporting actors (Both male and female) are also very good.

3weeks of non stop rewatching this drama.I am super in love to Ren and Seven in this drama.They acted so natural.There is no a lot of kissing but still they have shown love and sweetness to each other 's character.Holding hands,hugs and eye to eye caress are so sweet to captures heart of the viewer.

I am here again for ALLEN REN ❤❤❤❤, such a great actor. I love his facial expressions very much , he can convey everything just by his eyes he don't need to use his mouth for conveying. UNDER THE POWER is really worth watching, very good drama with great cast 😊😊.

@@Dani-ef3cf have you tried The Eight? There's no subs on youtube bc, from what I've heard, korea bought the rights for the drama. So I guess they dont want to release it yet. But there are other sites with eng sub I think. And Tan song yun is in it as well.

I've watched The Sword and the Brocade. Loved it and fell in love with Tan Songyun. I watched The Fox's Summer 1 & 2, and I loved it too. So, seeing how great she was, I then watched UTP. This is now the best Songyun series for me. She's such a joy to watch in every scene from drama, comedy, action, and romance. She also has great chemistry with all her male co-stars. I'm a solid Xiao Zhan-only-fan, but I have learned to appreciate Wallace and now Allen through her. Songyun has a refreshing way of delivering her lines, and her gestures and facial expressions are always on point. I think she's naturally extremely pretty and cute! Phenomenal talent that needs more respect and appreciation.

Since Nov 2000 we paid TVB overseas yearly subscriptions as we like to watch Hong Kong Cantonese series. Recently they have broadcasted more China mandarin series instead of Cantonese. This year I just started to watch it on youtube as I can read and write mandarin. We will stop our TVB subscription from next year.

Trust me, I usually skip a lot of part when watching drama. The way this drama manage to make me watch without skipping is really something else.

Have watched hundreds of historical dramas. The character Lu Yi portrayed by Ellen has a special place in my heart. Feel real and perfect. The slow burn romance and the love building is the best among all the dramas I have watched. The script is also very well written.

Ren Jialun really shines in this series. I have seen him in Detective Dee and The Destiny of the White Snake and that I did not even remember him. Nothing stood out. But in this series, man!, he is the most memorable and his performance is mesmerizing. Needless to say he looks extremely hot in those uniforms!
