[Eng Sub] The Vastness of the Hereafter is Within This Fluorescence [Nekomura Iroha & VY2]

Ойын-сауық

Just a small note about the title, 蛍光 in is the word for fluorescence, which combines the word "firefly" and "light". So, the "fireflies' light" in the song is related to this!

also, both 'Kami no kaze' & 'Kamikaze' can be translated into 'Divine Wind' So, when the pilots are committing a kamikaze attack, the enemy ships were hit by 'Divine Wind of the gods' for defying them...

well same for me... at first I saw him back alive, I thought it was kinda "Happy End" but the Kamikaze part punched me in the face. After that I realized he suicide bombed and died in the war... fkcing reality always cruel... *Kamikaze kinda like suicide bombers I think, but i'd prefer "bravely soldiers who give away their life to help their country and million other lives" but that just too long and kinda boring to read so....

So many soldiers were forced into kamikaze by the end of WWII... Majority of soldiers who were enlisted for kamikaze missions were not properly trained to fly. The officials forced soldiers from countries under Japanese influence such as Korea and China in to countless kamikaze missions, some of them young as 15-16 years old. Many were led into the mission not even knowing it was a kamikaze. The soldiers were sent off for mission often with depleted fuel supply so they could not turn back on their mission. Soldiers who came back from the mission for inevitable reasons were sentenced to execution by treason. It was an incredibly ineffective tactic. Many of the planes were struck down even before they hit the ships. Even if it hit, the damages were not enough to sink the ship in most occasions. The Japanese citizens and colonized nations suffered greatly through decisions like these that were made through the leadership of the Japanese Empire. The most to be blamed would be the officials who announced they would fight until every last of their countrymen lay dead... Quite scary, is it not? Ironic when they called it the "wind of god" when they were simply killing their own soldiers one by one in attempts to win a chanceless war...

I don't think so. The guy said to "please laugh on my part too", which I'm assuming that it's another way of saying "please live on for me" or something like that. Plus at the end she wakes up with the letter still in her hand and a light floating away. I think she just met his spirit in a dream and he just said his dying wish. At least, that's what I think :/

Coming back to this years later, and about to enter the US Navy, I feel really sad. Axis or Allies, both sides had someone at home waiting for them. A lot of people bought into the war propaganda, that their ways and country was 'better'. Which wasn't true for either side, and the innocent had to suffer for it. Admittedly, no matter how much I love Japan, they were especially terrible about this. I'm glad it's all in the past though, and we can all be friends if we put the effort into it.

However, as the right flap of her clothes is over the left (which is only done for dead people) only during the dream sequence, and the visual that they are seemingly over some sort of water, it might hint that she did not survive the war in one way or another. I guess it depends on how you interpret the visuals at the last portion of the song.

This makes the usual, popular lot of Miku or Rin or Len sound like an absolute joke (And let's admit it, they are). Can I really finally, FINALLY enjoy Vocaloid without being bothered by shitty text-to-speech computer vocals? This feels like a dream.
