The number of Mercedes Benz Actros 4063 S in Hong Kong is less than ten, because this 6x4 tractor Actros is a commercial vehicle with super heavy duty payload and towing capacity. The maximum towing capacity is nearly 200 tons. Such a heavy-duty truck has its own special purpose. Some huge facilities or machinery will need a truck like the Actros 4063S. Therefore, it is as tall as a double-decker bus, and it is not often seen on the road. This time, Lung Sir took Edmond Lau to test drive this super commercial vehicle, from which he explained the special frame and transmission design of the Mercedes-Benz Actros to cope with the towing weight of up to 200 tons. Everyone can learn about the knowledge of heavy trucks, and the different but equally advanced automotive technology compared with passenger cars.

@@sir167 其實重運行業200噸不算誇張數字，一軸8條呔的11擔拖架連拖頭未負重已經接近60噸，建造工程90-150噸預製件近年亦好常見😊

21:56 is a Roller Brake Tester. Usually at a vehicle testing station, this is a must have, along with the headlight tester (light tunnel because of its shape), shaker plates for checking suspension, an inspection pit / 4 post platform lift.

I love watching this with subtitles, my Cantonese is still not very good. I like all sorts of vehicles and love to see an expert talk about them so well.
7:25 apparently, it’s not just the mirrors you can choose to have either a MirrorCam or good old fashion actual mirror, (which I’ve been told by other driver is easier to reverse with as the actual mirror can give more depth in what you see in them. And Merc is not the only one that does it, with the new generation DAF XF & XG you can have ALL 6 mirrors replaced with cameras) you can also choose to have the good old fashion dials instruments back if the TFT LCD is not your thing.

Here in UK & EU, the common or garden GTW 40T~44T 4X2 or 6X2 tractor units quite often run on 385 section (super singles) front steer tyres (385/55R22.5 or 385/65R22.5), (although the norm would be 315/70R22.5) and the normal steering box setup is capable of steering these 385 tyres with a load on. Although if you’re talking about towing up to 200T then an additional steering damper & ram wouldn’t go amiss.

6:20 From experience, Most of the time the Actros’ Powershift III gearbox reacts quick enough for manoeuvring and when driving it does shift very smoothly, there’s even an economy mode for extra fuel saving. It is however nowhere near as intelligent as the Volvo I-shift box and it does more gear changes than necessary. Both with 12 gears, from setting off on full throttle to top gear it takes 7-8 gear changes on the Merc whereas the Volvo only need 5-6 gear changes, much like a car. Less gear changes means you’ll accelerate quicker as there’s less loss of momentum during gear changes.

3:45 as I’ve said before, used to drive a Volvo FH500 artic for a living, and yes you are right, although with that said it’s still a 500-odd horsepower tractor unit so when it’s not towing much, it can surprise a few unsuspecting car drivers at the lights. 😅

唔知有無機會講吓雙層巴士或者大型旅遊巴結構，成日都諗點解地台可以前後輛軸之間好似無機械結構連繫住咁，同埋雙層巴士樓梯下面係咪仲有其他機械組件😅
其實香港有冇可能試到eActros 又或者可以嚟返個拖頭battle

如果齋拖頭冇拖架的話,有中型貨車牌已經可以揸了
正宗真正搬重嘢最好係用棍波及一定係孖頭擔12隻腳，10隻腳加自動波始終唔係最好選擇😅。
拖100架MODEL Y壞車, 唔止壯觀, 重令其他駕駛者好開心, 少咗好多馬路炸彈 ! (TESLUN, 會爆的車, OR BOTH)
