The beginning was interesting, but the middle was boring. However, the third part, where the death of the general takes place, stands out especially. The ending of the movie is very beautiful and dynamic. The movie is visually aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I recommend the movie despite the boring middle for its beautiful ending and visuals.

I don't understand the title.. did Muyong ttime-travel to the future? I'm confused

yeah Chinese movies never end well for the main character, I've learned that over the course of time. The closest I`ve see is that they end up together but he has to sacrifice 90% of his life to save her from death so now they only have a few years together until his passing away.

A rubber chicken that squeeks, is the best kind. Dang what sword he was using. Most people could probably not even lift it. Good movie though, I liked it.

The moral of the story is that criminals did not get the punishment they deserved had they been put to death it ends with, and they lived happily and so on ..

Agreed. I love a strong female character, but the stuff Hollywood puts out just seems really condescending and preachy. No personal growth. She’s just absolutely perfect without having earned it besides being born with XY chromosomes. All the men around her are weak. And it’s constantly shoved in our face that she’s just as good as the boys. 🙄

wrong, Zhao was wiped out by Qin. The king, Ying Zheng oversaw the brutal of ethnic cleansing such as children of Zhao buried alive, cities torched to the ground. Yan kingdom was next, but they sent emissary with Yan's crucial map as token of friendship to Qin. Inside the map, a knife was prepared to assassinate Ying Zheng. It failed. By using the map, Qin had easier way to access to center of Yan. Then the last kingdom, Chu, with troops 10-20x larger than Qin. The battle was even more brutal but won by Qin. Qi surrendered. China was unified. Once the first Emperor died, Chu was the first nation that rebelled and revenged by wiping out Ying Zheng's family line. Every single person from babies to elderly was brutally tortured in public such as decapitation of arms, legs, pulling out tongue, eyes. Young under age girls were raped from soldiers to soldiers before executed. The scene was backfired for Chu, instead of feeling awe, people raised hatred to Chu, pathing way for Liu Bang to establish Han dynasty for over than 400 years. Then by end of Han, a young commander Xiahou made mistake by pursuing Lubu. He lost an eye.

So the heroine is the benign chinese citizens who are asked to take power under duress but who wants to pass it onto the party (and its benign control) who take it with a humble understanding. Hence party is the rightful power but is not power hungry at all. The citizens/heroine can pass all power on with total assurance
