    You should check out your steering box. With all the heavy wheeling it might have cracked the unibody/frame rail where the box bolts to. If so it will shake like an epileptic in a strobe light.

    My 99 wj project with the 6.5 in.lift has the death wobble. But due to work all projects have been put on hold. Hopefully soon it will slow down soon. Great video Nick.

    I worked for along time trying everything to solve my DW on my XJ. It probably all helped, but what made it go away finally was new tires. Unfortunately, the cure seems to be slightly different for everyone.

    check your ball joints when my 96 xj gets the wobbly D 99% they are my problem. jack the front end up and stick a long pry bar under the tire and lift up and see if you have any play in between joint and the knuckle.

    Have you checked the splines on the pitman arm to steering box? I had a rough country 1in drop arm and the splines became loose. Add a axle nut washer to the pitman arm nut so the nut doesn't bottom out before the splines are tight.

    I have the same Trac-bar. Bought the first model second generation with the "big rubber joint". Rubber bushing lasted about two years and then I ordered the Johnny Joint end. Been about 3 years and no play. I will say, the polyurethane joint on the axle side is garbage and I've yet to find a bushing to replace it with.

    That wobble might be coming from a wheel bearing. The same symptom was happening in my cobalt. Even if the tire is solid when you shake it, the problem still may be the wheel bearing. I would have your friend drive beside you and record the front tires on each side of the truck. If you can see that one tire is shaking more violently than the other when the wobble occurs then it is probably going to be the wheel bearing on the more violent side.

    You should do another death wobble video after the bushing rebuilding. I saw your pitman arm and steering box shakin like crazy in the first video. Just wondering also. Is there a moment when doing any mods that you suddenly got wobble or has it been a gradual oncoming thing?

    I had a 1998, with 35" tires.. and 6.5" lift? And I experience death wobble once. I was not a fan. I never took it on the highway again. Now I own a stock Cherokee, with as big of tires as I can fit stock. I am happy.

    You know start from the outside in. Lug nuts, hub bearing, ball joints,....you will find the issue. Lastly make sure you still have the right camber angle.

    Enduro Joint Poly Cup Part Number 9308G Enduro Joint Snap Ring Part Number B4WEJSR Moog Track bar bushing Part Number K3147 That will do the whole track bar on both sides... ask me how I know lol

  • @camaroboi13

    @camaroboi13

    To be clear you need 2 cups at $2.50 each. The snap ring is 90 cents, and the track bar bushing is $9.77 on Amazon. Barnes4wd charges 8 bucks for shipping, so you’re looking at 24 dollars to rebuild the whole bar. Cheaper than a 130 dollar track bar. Costs about 15 bucks for a machine shop to replace everything if you don’t have the right tools. Hope this helps 👍🏻

    19 yrs in my 98ZJ I just upgraded my steering from Ironman4x4fab to tons for my daily driver. First time I ever had death wobble problems. Their kit is cheap but strong. The instructions had incorrect measurements in them causing me to buy the wrong reamer. Im not going with them again, instead I will go with companies that put some effect into service.
