Dr. Marjorie Maye Mamsaang is a trained Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a strong focus on Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, and the treatment of musculoskeletal health issues related to pelvic pain. The pelvis is such a central part of the body, and it can affect and be affected by the other pieces of the anatomy in a number of ways. Coming from a background in osteopathic medicine, Dr. Mamsaang believes in the importance of finding full-body treatments for pain issues.
At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our pelvic pain specialists provide a functional, rehab approach to pelvic pain. When you visit one of our offices, you spend an hour with your doctor reviewing in detail your medical history and symptoms. Then, we perform an internal exam (no speculum) to evaluate your nerves and muscles. Together, we'll discuss an individual treatment plan that gets to the root cause of your pain and helps you to feel better. The best part: you can begin treatment the same day!
At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms.

Women with endometriosis sometimes complain of weird sensation in their legs. Why does this happen? So, remember that that endometriosis is when you have tissue similar to the inside of the uterus that's inflammatory, but it grows outside of the uterus.
That inflammatory tissue can start to invade the space in and around where the nerves are. And when nerves get inflamed, they start to send signals of pain. Sometimes those nerves are the nerves that provide sensation to the legs, so when women with endometriosis can sometimes complain of a heaviness in their legs, a throbbing pain, stabbing pain, pain radiating from the low back down to the foot. It can be pain on one side, it can affect both sides. It can be worse during their menses, and sometimes it worse during walking or excercise.

I have pretty much constant pain in my legs due to endometriosis (stage 1 in my case) and it definitely fluctuates between bearable to debilitating. I take progestin only BC on a daily basis to stop my menstrual cycle to help alleviate some of the severity of my symptoms, but I still cannot function normally. Hard to find suitable job options when pelvic pain prevents me from being able to sit for extended periods of time, and leg pain prevents me from standing/walking for extended periods of time. Happy to see that awareness for endo has picked up over the last few years. Hopefully we get awareness for other lesser known illnesses as well. Chronic pain/life altering symptoms is no joke, and anyone who experiences long lasting symptoms of any disease deserves to have better treatment and a wider variety of options.

@@snowps1 I'm getting my spine checked soon. Unfortunately, here, they want X-rays and PT done before they will approve an MRI. Which is incredibly stupid, because how the hell is PT supposed to know what to do if they don't have proper imaging of what may be wrong? I've had lumbar X-rays done before and nothing showed up. Leg pain is a very common symptom of endometriosis.

I've found a tens unit helps if I'm experiencing pain in my legs/all the way into my lower back. Heat also helps. Might want to consider seeing a pain management specialist, and see what kind of meds may be able to help.

I had really bad endometriosis, and I got a lot of twisted ovarian cyst. I ended up having a hysterectomy. I'm still in a lot of pain, and recently, they found a mass in my leg. I'm prone to getting cyst everywhere in my body, I need genetic testing for it and I'm seeing an oncologist to rule out cancer and to figure out if I have neurofibroma synovial sarcoma or something along those lines. I don't know if the endometriosis is connected to my other problems, but it sure feels that way.

Yes. And unfortunately most Drs dismiss it as being no big deal. It basically grows and spreads like cancer but supposedly it's not. Still causes the same kind of inflammatory response tho and causes lots of complications
