Used this to review while on my way to my endocrine rotation (in addition to Pance prep pearls). Thank you so much, I was able to see patients on my first day, especially for easier conditions like basic thyroid medication management and diabetes.

Could you elaborate how hypocalcemia from Vit D deficiency causes hyperparathyroid? Thank you.

Vitamin D deficiency is a very common cause of secondary hyperparathyroidism. If vitamin D is low, you cannot absorb calcium in the gut. Therefore this induces a hypocalecemia, which, in turn, will cause hyperparathyroidism to release the stores of calcium into the bloodstream from the bones
