END OF SEASON FISHING for STUNNING BROWN TROUT

Фильм және анимация

I shot down to the South Island on last time for a quick end of season mission with my good mate Hans for our annual catch up. We had a specific big fish mission in mind, followed by catching up with Rob for a few days exploring the few tributaries that are still open in May.
Casual days, good vibes and some beautiful fish made for a great start to the trip...

Yes... That was fun!!! Always good to back into a day like that where there's nothing but fish on line all day long, at least once in awhile!!!

Love how you keep these gems in the water for as long as possible. See way too many guys throwing them on shore in the grass or dirt, without a care in the world for these delicate beauties.

Yes, especially since there is this thing called a "pause"button on all computers. No real need to hold a fish out of water for so long. Take care Brian🐟🐟

One of the best aspects of the south island season..? We give the fish a break. Put the gear up, enjoy our families and other hobbies, thinking about our next season. I encourage you all to walk away, respect our game fish and challenge them when it's fair.

That's Probably why the fishing is so amazing. We get To Do the same with steelhead. /Lake run rainbows out of Erie, Pennsylvania. And it's an amazing time when it happens.

Hot day. Skills. Couple of machines in action right there! The burnt orange Mirage LT II fair sizzles in overcast conditions. Stunning. Cannot understand why Orvis doesn’t offer it as a standard colour. Thanks for sharing another quality video Alex.

Epic day fishing Bro 😎👌💯 you most likely won't but in the event of you ever getting caught out with ya tripod like that again.. three same length sticks tied at the top to increase height then tie the replacement one to it .. I've done that a few times with just my phone tied in the stick pod top and it works mean compared to no tripod lol 😂 Kiwi ingenuity Bro 😂

Those were some brownies out of that non-allowed filming country, Alex. 14 pounds, my goodness. One question: I noticed you put on lead to get your egg down. Why not using a slow sinktip leader?

Core blimey! Lovely pre spawn fish. Funny, I tried to book Mike but he was full so Nanns was going to set us up with Hans. My nephew "wanted a Kiwi guide," so that's what we did. Our Kiwi guide said Hans was one of the best guides around.Oh well, next time. Is your fly tying mate Keiren the fly shop guy in Christ Church? That guy is a treasure trove for NZ newbies.

@@big1dog23 It’s depends what you want from your trip dude. Early season can be great fishing but you gamble with the weather and conditions, summer can be nicer weather but way more anglers to deal with and winter fishing can be excellent but again limited water and lots of people

Nice video. I have a question. Why does your season end soon? Is that for all of NZ? Or only certain areas? We live in America and we never have seasons for trout. You can fish them all year long.
