Спорт

Join 99.9 The Fan's Tim Donnelly & Graham Hill as we pay tribute to a sports broadcasting legend and celebrate the end of an era in NC State sports. In this special episode of Pack Therapy, Tim & Graham are joined by renowned play-by-play commentator, Gary Hahn, who has been the voice of the Wolfpack for 34 years. As he prepares to retire at the end of this basketball season, we reflect on his unparalleled career behind the mic.
But the story doesn't end there. Gary dives into the exhilarating journey of calling the games of the men's basketball team during their historic NCAA Tournament run, witnessing every heart-pounding moment, buzzer-beater, and triumph.

I grew up with listening to ausley and Dornburg and they were legends I never thought they could be replaced but Gary Hahn along with Tony Haynes proved me wrong. They are the top of their profession, and will be greatly greatly missed together all the best to Gary Hahn

One game that sticks out in my mind was at Georgia Tech. State made a 3 at the halftime buzzer, a fan made a halfcourt shot and the Pack won it on a running 3 point shot. I remember Gary's first football game very well. Gary is the best in the country and is a great person to have for a hero.

Hard to feel bad about him leaving after he let the mask slip on-air. Hope he learns compassion towards those "illegal aliens" he felt the need to comment on in the middle of a broadcast. I don't care what side of the spectrum you're on, the moment we forget we are all human is the moment that we lose our humanity. I appreciate his dedication to the school, but him feeling the need to drop that bomb hints at a side of him that saddens me.

@jnerdsblog you have to know what’s coming … “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone” - i didn’t care for the comment either. i found it unnecessary and just setting himself up to catch heat. why, gary ? why go there in that moment ? it was a mistake, he knows it, and he apologized for it. why can’t that be the end of it? this trend of wanting to pile on a burry a person forever/non stop after they make a mistake is getting real old. each of us is more than our worst mistake/moment. none of us would want to be judged by our worst mistake/moment. he made a mistake. he was held accountable. he apologized. life goes on.

We live in a world where everything is documented, and nobody's is perfect, and we should stop acting like that is not the case. I'm not perfect, and if you recorded what I said on a daily basis, I would have been fired a long time ago. Thank you for pointing out something that he said is wrong, but someone's career should not be defined a few seconds. Let's just be humble and accept that life is more interesting when everyone is not the same.
