End of an Era: GE Centercabs Haul Revenue Freight on the Arcade & Attica Railroad! 6/8/2023

The last “common carrier” railroad in the United States to operate both passenger and freight, the Arcade & Attica railroad has made quite the name for themselves over the years.
One of the reasons railfans are drawn to this shortline, was the consistent usage of General Electric Centercab style locomotives on revenue freight trains. In 2023, the railroad announced the purchase of Western New York & Pennsylvania’s ALCO RS3M 406, to replace the Centercabs on freight trains. With the clock counting down on this weekly operation, we set out to document a day on the ARA the best we could before change was fully in effect.
Although the Centercabs no longer haul freight that often, they are still used often in passenger service between Arcade and Curriers Station.

A classic Nathan M5! What’s not to love?
I was wondering when you were going to upload this video. This is easily the best footage of the A&A I have seen yet! The shot in Java Center from the bar's porch was nicely done, and the footage from Reisdorf is simply unmatched. Awesome video Anthony, and a successful day indeed!

Thanks! I like to get creative with some of my shots lol. And it was definitely a very successful day, but this video definitely is not doing as well as I thought it would view wise lmao

The shots of the summer flora was a nice addition as well, and I miss those summer colors as much as I miss the centercabs on the freight runs lol. The KZread algorithm can be a huge pain! Give it some time and I'm sure the views will pick up!

Great shots, love those little GE's. Wonder how many cars just one of them could pull. Now that they can do these moves with a single engine (RS-3) I hope nobody loses their job.

@@trainchaserlouisvilleindia7096 They have been retired from freight service for almost a year now. The railroad currently uses them for their excursion trains regularly.
