I oppose this bill for numerous reasons. However, it's important to address the misinformation surrounding it. Contrary to what some people claim, the bill does not mean that merely mentioning one of the examples it provides will result in prosecution. According to Title 6, colleges have the authority to expel individuals for engaging in hate speech. The purpose of this bill was simply to provide examples of behaviors that could be construed as anti-Semitic.

The ship said USS Liberty on the back. … I mean, what do you need?” One survivor and member of the Liberty Veterans Association, James Ennes, was shot in the femur during the attack, and was then instructed never to discuss it. Ernie Gallo had a fellow crewmate die in his arms. It was decades before survivors began sharing their experiences, and they were sometimes criticized for being anti-Semitic or slanderous of Israel for doing so. Not all veterans involved believe in a cover-up, however. From the Israeli perspective, a proper investigation would have revealed either rank incompetence or a deliberate attack on an ally, while for the Americans, the investigation would've required them to reveal just what the Liberty was doing in that region. Be aware of this Indian guy Vivek. He talks from both sides of his mouth. He doesn't condemn Israel's act , and he also disagrees with Anti Semitic bill. He said the what the IDF does, shouldn't be compared to what Hitler had done. It's evident what they IDF has done. 92% of the people that had killed so far been civilians. Vivek is a spineless opportunist creature.

This will set a precedent for groups that are too small to affect an election but have a massive influence on institutions.

It is so beautiful to watch a first generation American articulate our principles so simply and cogently. Vivek is the best example of what this country can produce. I hope he plays a vital role in the next administration.

Black people have gotten the short end of the stick for 400 years. The positive relationship between black and Jewish communities since the civil rights era has been squandered. You can blame us if that makes you feel better but your oppression lies at the feet of systemic racism, not at those of Jews per se. Up until recently I donated to the Grassroots Law Project created by Shawn King. I personally have no love for him but I can distinguish him from the mission. I’m not interested in scoring points for minor contributions. What I will say is that I stopped donating not because of their support for Palestinians but for not calling out some of the disgusting comments on their instagram posts. I cannot love people who don’t love me back and that applies to practically everyone.

If this law gets passed by Congress they will be challenged in court and will be revoked. Guaranteed. It's crazy how these people make their money on KZread, giving us information, but then anyone outside (like you or me or most of the people in this comment section, it seems, haha) who looks at KZread or even just Twitter (even with all the A.I. algorithms designed to restrict knowledge) can see the full picture. We are trapped in this "right" vs. "left" binary, that seems to be deliberately set up to prevent unifying principles to emerge. Vivek mentions this, although in a different way and context. Vivek's right about free speech being the inalienable right of anyone to express an opinion, including a thought or opinion that the other 333 million of our fellow citizens find reprehensible. The march of the Antisemitic Nazis through the streets of Skokie, Illinois is the classic example that First Amendment scholars always correctly cite. The First Amendment was not intended to protect speech or expression that we like. The Founders intended it to protect expression that we don't like, or even detest. The bill that Vivek referred to which attempts to regulate Antisemitic "hate speech" has recently been passed by the House of Representatives. If also approved by the Senate and signed by the President, it will almost certainly be struck down by a rare 9-0 majority of the Supreme Court. Most House members know this, so why did they pass it anyway? Because it is political posturing and virtue signalling, plain and simple.
