I always thought that the magic of the Z1R is not because of the drivers (they are, of course, high quality) but because of the acoustics of the internal echo chambers, that gives some reverb to the bass and airiness. It is really great. I have never found that it lacks or it gives too much of anything. It has been my literal end game, after two years buying gear, I have stopped because I am more than happy with them.

Got my Z1R a couple of years ago and I've never left a listening session disappointed..they still amaze me to this day 😍

The sound of the Z1R is amazing! Pity that it hurts my ears while wearing it but otherwise glorious!

@@SuperChonk That’s a shame 😢as they fit me like a glove possible my most comfortable set...but Z1R's fit is defo a make or break for a lot of folks.

@@SuperChonk if you have concha problems... Have you tried deep insertion with the smallest tips? I have never used deep insertion in other iems. I am always between L an XL tips, but on the Z1R I use the one before the smallest one, then I go deep insertion, and they fit perfectly. I can get tired after some time. But I am getting longer sessions since I am getting used to it.

Lovely overviews. I love my XE6. It’s either that or the pathfinder most of the time in my ears. Your reviews are fun and informative. Are you active on headfi?

There are quite a few that come to mind, Vision Ears Phoenix, Dita Perpetua both features euphoric end game sound :)

@@SuperChonk I am thinking about either the Phonix or Euphoria, any advice? I really like the idea of simplicity and a single driver with no complex crossovers getting in the way. But I am torn..

@@alistairhodge833 Do you mean the Phoenix or Elysium? Between the 2 I prefer the Elysium from Vision Ears as it is a reference sound that is clean and handles details with great finesse. Personally, I have always preferred single dynamic drivers over multi ba/hybrid as it just sound more natural :)
