One of Robert W. Smith's most impressive festival works to date, Encanto opens with a distinctive full brass fanfare and evolves into an infectious rhythmic statement that makes younger bands sound strong and confident. Directors everywhere have heralded this distinctive piece as one of their favorites.

WS Encanto: (1:33): As for Encanto, one of my favorite parts is at 1:33. In this part of the piece, you can hear all sides of the ensemble coming together, with percussion keeping a fast tempo. The melody is largely composed of the tenor and alto saxophones, as well as the high brass, whilst the low winds, low brass, and woodwinds provide a steady harmony, keeping timing. It is a great start to several measures of unity amongst the band. Encanto: (3:21): At 3:21, the band once again comes together for a single chord. What I love about this is that this is just one chord that sounds so powerful, due to its dynamic. This is what the band should truthfully strive for to emit a powerful aura with a single chord.

@@xenbriaa I’m in the talking stage with someone I’ve known for about 3 years now.
I have a rather moderate case of Synesthesia, a disorder that causes sufferers to feel and experience music far beyond just hearing it. In my instance, I can see it as an array of colors and scenes and rather vivid imagery. I've found myself watching bands perform in dimly lit auditoriums and experiencing a moment of brilliance as vibrant swirls of color painted the room. Some people consider this a weakness but I've found a clever way of using it to my advantage. Music has always moved me to begin with, in certain instances it's literally changed my life, and, luckily, I've found a way to pay it back. I listen to compositions such as this and, as an artist, create works of art to help visualize what these make me see and imagine. Illustrating this piece has proven to be far more interesting than I expected it to be. The tone of the music, in general, feels so ethereal and- as the title implies- enchanting. It's so entertaining to create a magical landscape and fill it with other-worldly creatures as a way of grasping what this music truly makes me see.
That moment when you're the only one in every comment section playing music that 7th graders play while in 11th grade :\ I feel like I'm the only one in my class who understands how to play my instrument. It's one of the main reasons I'm not staying in band next year, among other reasons.

@@collinmccann2635 As the drumset player in our jazz band, I CAN RELATE
This sounds like a song that plays at the end of your adventure and right at the first page turn at 0:45 it’s like they’re recounting the stories your heroes went on to do in the future and then the end being the legend of your party’s final grand adventure together.
I remember playing this piece as well as Rondo, Liberty March, and A Japanese Folktale
1st part sax here with the two measure solo. i wish the solo was longer! saxes and flutes sound beautiful together

I’m playing it for my 8th grade band but I have the 1st trumpet so I have a short solo too
I played this in 2021 at Region 19's Freshman Winds concert where I was 4th chair and played 2nd part as a trumpet player, and I love this.
I’m in 7th grade and I must tell you how the recordings are so helpful.
Back in high school we played this piece along with Aztec Fire and Hymsong of Philip Bliss. This along with the other two were my favorite pieces to play.
I always grab the biggest triangle I can find for this song just because.
I was the timpani player for my band version and I think I also did some triangle snare and cymbal depending on the section
Soooo many kids will be disappointed when they get this in their folders and realize it's not from Disney lol
My senior year when I made 1st chair trombone in our honor band that year we played this piece as our final. I absolutely love this music ❤
I'm proud to say that im a 7th grader playing with highschool band on this
Played this for MPA this year you already know all ones- Triangle Player
