I love how, in the song, Pepa says how she started a hurricane at her wedding and Felix just goes "What a joyous day." His bride caused a hurricane at their wedding, and he's just happy they got married.

They're so perfect for eachother, I really love how in the first lines of we don't talk about bruno they were so in sync with eachother and despite the different struggles of moods felix stayed supportive whilst being his goofy self Also pepa being understanding and not being that one aunt that wants things to go her way

Felix understands his wife has very uncontrolled emotions, but that doesn't make her a bad person or out-of-control. Abuela wants her to be in control of herself, but Felix knows better than to force her to do that: that's why they had a hurricane during their wedding. Pepa is honest about her feelings, so Felix doesn't have to guess what is wrong with her (a common problem men have with women), and she doesn't say anything negative about his goofiness. If anything, she's grateful for him to be able to keep smiling even when she can't because he's the calm in her storm. Him brushing/pushing the clouds away from her is what helps her stay grounded]. He's not trying to get rid of them, as Abuela would like, so much as keeping them from covering her up. Her ability to feel and accept her emotions makes her very understanding towards other people's feelings since her power are literally the storm people feel inside.

I love how the spouses are perfect for each other in this movie. Pepa needs to stay in a good mood and so she has Felix, who is always in high spirits. Agustin is always getting hurt so he's with Julieta because she can heal him. They tried to pair Isabela with Mariano because he was the most perfect man around. And it always cracks me up the way Camillo changes into Felix but he's extra short-lmao.

Felix never tells her to 'calm down'; He will say things like 'you're ruining the flowers' or 'you'll get Antonio wet'. But unlike the Grandmother, he's not telling her not to feel these emotion's. He's just highlighting the effects her emotions are having to the things and people around her. This way's she could maybe decide if she'd like to continue ranting...but possibly go outside instead of doing it in the house or so close to their son.

God the details of this movie, how Pepa is biting her lip when she’s waiting to see if Antonio has a gift, how Félix kisses her hand when it goes well, how Félix tucks his shirt in when it’s a special occasion then untucks it when it’s party time this movie and its details blow me away

Another cool little tiny detail of Felix that's not shown in the video here. Go watch the breakfast scene with the family at the table. When Antonio says to Abuela "I told them to warm up your seat", you can see Felix VERY subtly give Antonio a little nod and thumbs up of approval because he's already trying to help people with his new gift.

In "we don't talk about bruno," Felix refers to Pepa as "Mi Vida," which translates to "my life" in English, which would be the Spanish equivalent of "my everything." I just think it's cute...

In fact, his voice actor is a well-known singer here in Colombia, if I'm not wrong, he's the vocalist of Grupo Niche

1:33 the light from the photography exposes that there is a rainbow over Pepa’s head!! What a detail! Not just physically/ scientifically, but it also speaks to the idea that maybe people don’t notice her joyous emotions as much as her sad/angry ones because that is just seen as baseline/ normal. But sometimes being happy can require a lot of inner work, and maybe not everyone notices when people actively create joyous environments for others. This “photo” actually captures a moment of joy for the Madrigals in a way that sometimes only photos can. Just perfect.

I like to imagine that after a long day of Pepa trying to control herself... at night when they are both alone in their room she and Felix talk about how they felt during the day (especially Pepa) and she cries freely if she has to or laugh until the floor is wet if she feels like it ... with him always by her side, without him judging her or trying to make her hold back like everyone else in the house or in the community 🌈 ❤

I'm an anxiety-ridden white redhead who is very prone to mood swings and he is a handsome black man with a patch of white hair among his curls. I just love Pepa’s and Felix’s marriage. They’re obviously so happy and in love with each other, they’re both great parents, and they help each other (especially Felix always being positive and distracting Pepa from her emotions). It’s just so cute, they are the cutest couple ever.

Yeah her does remind me of her but I don’t think they look alike. There’s been discussions over the years about how Gothel is basically jewish-coded or Romani-coded, whichever it is. She is made to be more ‘ethnic-looking’ than the other good main characters. Pepa is a Colombian lady so I guess her design is going to read as ‘ethnic-looking’ too. Especially since she has lighter skin but doesn’t look white.

It can happen in real life, though. I do have someone like Félix in real life. Three people like him, actually. Relationships like this (one is one of my best friends and the others are my brother and my mom) take work, but they are possible.

Does anyone else notice that in the first family picture they all showed there powers in some way, Isabella had flowers over her head, Luisa was holding a boulder to show how much pressure is on them to use there gifts and powers but at the end when the pressure is gone and they don’t always have to prove themselves none of them showcase their powers minus Antonio

I love them so much, as a couple they're amazing, they're wonderful parents, their voices (Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo are super talented) go really well together in both singing and well, just talking (also by having both of them preserve their Colombian accents was that I was able to realize that is how my English sounds, thanks to these two I was able to feel more comfortable speaking because English with a Colombian accent does sound quite nice) I just love them both individually and together, two of the best characters of the whole movie.

I mean I love them, I love how Felix always support Pepa and she can literally FEEL when she is with him, because he is not like ,,YOU HAVE A CLOUD" but ,,Yup, let it go"

I relate to Felix and Pepa. I got a girlfriend that's easily stressed out and like Pepa is with Felix, being around me keeps her calm and happy. There's been a few incident where she got really worked up and snapped. But I'm always there to calm her down and help her through it the best I can. It helps when I used to be just like her. I pride myself on being able to calm her down when she gets stressed out and needs help with life. Just wish I had Felix's level of positivity. But that's what my girl is for. She's always positive when she's not stressed out.
