    Thanks for the video. My machine wasn’t producing pressure in the barrels, and the clocks went a bit funny. I replaced the 3 capacitors for £2.99 Panasonic ones from eBay, and it’s back up and running. A 5yr old machine that’s never switched off! Thank you.

    Mine gone funny as well. The pump isn't kicking in and display funny. Do you think I have the same problem? Was fine a week ago but since I put a new keg in yesterday gone funny. Thought it might be a faulty keg

    Yes I imagine it is. However mine lasted 5hrs before it went bang last night. It is 5 hrs old though and is never switched off. I will buy a new one. I think it’s worth a go for the cost. As long as you know how to solder.

    Brilliant... I had the same problem. Bought the parts from RS for £4, bought a soldering iron kit from Aamzon for £16 - an hour later and job done - enjoying beer again. Thanks

    Great video thanks, I stripped it down but the capacitors do t seem the have blown. The unit shows power however when I press the two buttons to simulate a keg being in place the power shuts off

    @@babychukka I fixed mine, not sure if it will work for you but here’s what I did. Take off the back exposing all the electronics. Unclip all the individual components ie the fan motor (there should be little push to connect clips. I then turned on the pump and pressed the two buttons where the kegs sits to indicate/simulate and keg in the device. I found that by doing this the display screen didn’t cut out like before which told me there was a fault with one of the components I disconnected. I managed to find out that it was the cooling plate section that was causing it to short out. Now, I’m not sure exactly what I did, maybe I mangaged to clean the electrical components of the cooling plate or merely by disconnecting and reconnecting some how reset it but it stopped shorting out after that. Worth a try at very least

    A useful video but there are a number of important points. I have been given one of these machine to fix. Its totally dead. Back cover off. Remove the silver power supply and disconnect it from the middle PCB (black and red). The PSU is 10.5 volts out at upto 10 amps. I set up a bench power supply in place of the original PSU and pushed in the keg switch. Everything works as expected amd the supply indicated a 5 amp load with the pump running, and the fan going.. so turn that off and check the PSU. Dmm the outputs for AC and DC. TO to find a dropping dc voltage and no AC. So the psu is the problem. The thing is this is a switched mode power supply. They are simple enough and have common failures to look for. Hower. THEY CAN BE LEATHAL due to the stored energy and high voltages involved with them. The components replaced in this video are the output capacitors and they may be charged with enough to burn chunks out of tools. The input capacitor could have 400 volts across it and enough stored energy to stop your heart. This will be present after the mains supply is removed and you are now handling the board with the terminals exposed. If the switching FET has shorted you could get very high voltages on the outputs of the supply. Compnents may explode (capacitors usually do, especially if they are electrolytic and connected the wrong way). Also the heatsink can be a live surface at mains potential, especially if there has been a failure on board. Equally when reinstated an insulator shim may be missed. Do not try to repair any switched mode power supply unless you know what you are doing. It could easily be the last thing you ever do.

    It should not matter if it is of a bad quality capacitator, however cheap ones could have flaws.

    Hey, Nice video, thank you. Where did you get the new modules? Is it usual to have it burn out? do you have any idea how it happens?

  • @DVAnl

    @DVAnl

    I got them localy, you can buy them online as well. Search for Alu-elco 1.000uF / 16V Low ESR in amazon or ebay to find them. Yes it does burn out, it is a common item of repair. I do have an idea about why it happens, it is called planned obsolescence and they run one or two parts of a machine to hard so the product fails. In that way you have to buy a new product every few years.

    Clean your fan out too when you had all apart would be easier on the parts as it’s working overtime as looks clogged with dust which is common enough. Great video 👍🏻
