    I love this rhythm. I learned Mandiani. when I was young but I never learned how Mandiani sounds different from what I learned. I wonder how many variations of this rhythm there are? I wonder if the rhythm is the same all over Africa or does each country have their own variation

    Thank you Edward for appreciating, these are variations of the Kouroussa region (Guinea Conakry), the only difference is that I play dunumba and sangban at the same time and therefore I adapted the game of 2 people. Each region has its own variations, each musician also adds his personal touch, which contributes to the evolution of the tradition and can give many versions of the same rhythm, but we always recognize it.

    @@nouzb-official ah okay because I heard a version in the early 90's that had me mesmorized and took me a few years to learn it but once I learned Mandiani and found other versions it had me like library time. I heard at least four to five different variations just over the last couple of years so I assume Mandiani is a rhythm played across the continent of Africa
