This is the first time I think I really understand african drums and dancing. I love how they complement each other and make the whole thing seem more..intense than just chaotic. A good example of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts". :) Great clip!

I watch this as much as Michael below... Love it - brings back some happy and sad memories. Thank you, everyone in Famoudou's circle; I couldn't be there.

This is a great video, thanks for posting. I especially like the brother in the white shirt dancing behind Billy Konate at the 6:58 mark. Hillarious!

El mejor vídeo de percusión africana que veo en mucho tiempo, el sentimiento de fiesta, la diversión, el canto... un buen ejemplo de todo lo que su cultura alberga!

I love this giving of water to the drummers. Is that some tradition of this dance?

YewandeAfrica The giving of water is very symbolic in African cultures. Water is life indeed!!! a gesture of appreciation not only to quench thirst but with great gratitude.

No. She simply sensed they needed some water and she decided to give them water while carrying on the rhythm of the beats.
