Healthcare workers tend to be very judgemental when they're dealing with or suspect they're dealing with a person that may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and it's not right, they should treat everyone the same. The way the world is now anyone can end up with a drug or alcohol problem. Some people try to act like they are high and mighty but you never know what road your life may go down so people should treat everyone the same. Some people will judge and mistreat someone with a drug or alcohol problem and then at some point down the line they end up with a drug or alcohol problem themselves. Life is strange you never know, just because you're in a position right now does not mean that's where you'll always be.

This wasnt the first time I guarantee it and they need to investigate everything they've ever done. They will play the burn out/psych card or something else to make it not their fault. This was an intentional, deliberate act. I have a son that age so I say book em and cook em. I think EMS and should have to wear body cams as well they should also have a cam on the inside of the ambulance compartment that starts recording once a patient is placed inside. We can always look back and see how people are treated or act once they are put inside a police car. Why not have a option to look back and see what happen once someone is inside a ambulance? If something suspicious happens or a patient complains of something or even neglect happening there would be evidence to fall back on.

It is a huge HIPAA privacy issue to record patients that are often very exposed and undergoing medical procedures. Imagine if you were having tubes inserted all over, dying, giving birth, or screaming in pain etc etc...I don't know that I would want those gory details on film as a patient or of my loved ones as patients either. I think the better answer is to take better care of the mental health of first responders that are put into so many traumatizing, violent, and dangerous situations regularly they often end up burnt out with PTSD but zero help. They are also severely chronically understaffed and overworked. Warps a persons mind after decades.

They rendered absolutely no care to this man. They were supposed to start taking his vitals. First they could have calmly approached him, gentley talking to him to reduce his anxiety, checked his pupils and oxygen levels. At times they will sedate (if they feel it will not impact his condition) so they can see if the airway is clear to administer oxygen and start an IV. The purpose of EMT is to mitigate his issues and stabilize him until medical staff can take over. They are to ensure the patient is kept alive. Her mug shot shows a remorseless, defiant person.

This is infuriating!! 🤬 I've watched the whole video and the cops treated this man like he was less than human as well 🤬 NOBODY checked his vitals from the start and then after the "EMS" showed up and treated him like they did 🤬 they treated Earl like an alcoholic, drug addict or chronic pain patient going through withdrawal, not like a human being in medical distress!! Would they make a patient with heart disease, emphysema or diabetes etc in distress walk themselves outside to the gurney? Total FKN BULLSHIT and they better be prosecuted and I hope Earl has relatives that sue TF out of everyone involved!!

This is horrible and places a black cloud over the EMT's. These two have no right to even say they are EMTs. If treating people is an issue find a new career. That man was asking for help and this is what he got. It is not our job to pass judgement, it is to save lives. My family are mostly EMT and Firemen this would not fly in the departments we work for. I was very sad to hear that this might be caused by his race. In EMT school you treat the patient not their skin color. I pray for his family and friends and hope whatever compensation that get is not worth losing a life over. His family needs to know that he was asking for treatment, and wanted to change his life.

Good! They need to be charged. They didn’t treat him with any dignity or concern. They didn’t even take his vitals. And they were to lazy to get the stretcher and lift him onto the gurney properly so they just let him flop his own self up on the gurney, as weak as he was, face down and figured ‘F him…good enough’. They refused him medication. A lot of people see addicts as less than and they think they just wanna sit around and get drunk and/or high. I’ve been an alcoholic, I’ve been a heroin addict, and I’ve been a construction worker and let me tell you living sober, getting up at 5:00am to start breaking my back for 10 hours starting 7:00am every morning is a breeze compared to living with a real addiction, a mental AND physical dependency to a substance. And quitting is scary, aside from all your demons coming back and the pain and anguish your about to go through you could do real physical harm to your self. RIP to this this man, he really tried to get through it, 4 days on his own. Sadly he called 911. He might’ve still been alive if not for them. Condolences to his woman, his friends and his family.

If he was not black he would not have been treated that way. This is just another perfect example of just how systemic racism is in our society. It touches every aspect of our lives. When I hear people say racism does not exist in America (usually white) I always have to ask, If you've never experienced it how would you know it? I(t is very easy to overlook something you have never experienced.

This does happen a lot, it's happened to me twice, only more violent and brutal. No body cams, no accountability, all the way up to the state level. I was paralyzed and in shock, and was spoken to that same way- dismissive and mocking. They tore out a chunk of my hair, dragged me on the concrete, and knocked me unconscious. They disconnected my life support after being told not to twice. I was assaulted once in the ambulance. They told the hospital my husband had done it. Complaints went no where, no one cared or took it seriously, all the way up to the state, where I was mocked and laughed at for trying to report it. Nothing was done about it, no accountability. My heart breaks for this man. I'm lucky I survived. I know of at least 30 other cases like this, many people have died. No one cares or does anything. It's like they're getting kickbacks for these contracts.

From what we know at this time, they could have killed their patient more mercifully with a gun. The causes of death need to take the following factors into account: 1. Was the patient abused in the care He received? 2. Was there a Hate Crime committed during the abusive care received by the Patient. 3. We're the Police in control or were they mentally "absent" while a man was killed as they watched? 4. We're the criminal actions directly indicative that the Constitutional Right To Life of the patient was abused. There are multiple layers of abuse from top to bottom by almost a half dozen state employees. The mission of the bodies that employ these state workers is concerned with public safety. Is the training program wildly deficient? Are we submitting people in life threatening situations to the care of emergency technicians that are indifferent, untrained, and unscreened?
