I've asked my wife to play the full 'Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays' album at my funeral. Followed by the 'Ensemble of Silence' as an epilogue. If I had to pick a single favorite song I think the Ensemble of Silence would take it.

First two LP's of this band fit inside the broader metal sub-genre "Black Metal" Once inside the Black Metal, they play "Folk, Neofolk, Doom and Symphonic Metal" Then this band plays Black-Folk-Doom Metal. Best bands inside this category of Black Metal are/were Burzum, Ulver, In the Woods, Empyrium and Agalloch among others. All of them have in common lyrics about nature and how men are the ultimate destroyer of this planet. If you like this genre, it is mandatory to listen Agalloch - The Mantle, which is by far the best album ever in this musical category. Cheers.

Wow, I used to ignore german black metal, especially when its as meldoic as this. Not my cup of tea, i used to think.... Blown away, super melodious but not cheesy at all. Really really great album. Only complain I have: the songs are way to short!
