The best four years of my life... was the trainer of Bear (Dreyfuss) the first 4 seasons.. I am in a few of these outtakes. The one with the cricket. I don't know who put this together, or got this raw footage, but it is great! We were all like a family, and you can totally tell it during the outtakes. Richard was absolutely great to work with, and we had just a fun cast and crew.

Jesus Christ, I wish Empty Nest got more recognition. Even the outtakes are gold

It is so wonderful to see how much fun they had on set and how much they cared for each other! And to see the greats come on as guest stars... Amazing.

Awww…Danny Thomas. Those bits are gems.

I wish there were more of these, I love these people 😀 one of my most favorite programs.

I LOVED this show!! Richard Mulligan had me at Soap! One of the funniest men God ever created. I sure do miss him.

Such a great show!!! They were great when they crossed over with The Golden Girls!!!

Great show. A favorite. A great producing team. Susan Harris, Tony Thomas (Danny's son) and Paul Junger Witt. (R.I.P.). I met Kristy Mcnichol at an autograph convention once. She was waiting for her Ride to the airport so i was talking to her before she left. I was on the phone at the time talking to a friend. So I told my friend who I was talking to. So he said let me talk to her. So I said. Kristy my friend would like to talk to you. She talked to him for about 10 minutes. A Very nice person.

Man Empty Nest was fun. I love Richard Mulligan, Dinah Manoff and David Leisure. But my favorite will always be Kristy McNichol, who became my very first crush when I was about 13-14. I was obsessed with her haha she was cute as a button, and a great actress. Then when I was 16 I met the love of my life: a total tomboy who is also named Barbara. In February 2022 that will have been exactly 20 years ago, and she still takes my breath away every I look at her. ❤ Thank you Kristy McNichol for making me realize how cool tomboys really are. ^_^ Thank you for uploading this. Great to get a look behind the scenes of my favorite sitcom. Richard Mulligan is sorely missed.

So glad I watched this. Been so down in the dumps in 2020. This really gave me a good laugh, and then more good laughs!!

This was one of the best shows on tv. Good clean humor and fun. No matter how many times I see the same episode I still laugh and the cast was THE BEST, absolutely love all of them !

These were absolutely hilarious!!!! As a huge Empty Nest fan, I am so happy to see such incredible memories of those involved but no longer with us (Richard Mulligan especially) preserved. I truly hope that if you come across more from the show, you will post them! Disney seriously needs to get off it's pridehorse with chucking out endless Marvel/Star Wars/Live-Action Remakes and release Empty Nest to DVD. It was honestly the best show they produced between The Golden Girls and Home Improvement and yet both of those series have been released in their entirety on DVD and on streaming platforms. Empty Nest deserves better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This show brings back memories of me being in snowy New England as a preteen, this show would come at night (reruns by then, I believe) and I would dream about living in Sunny Florida. So funny because I made it down to live in Southern Florida and I was the only guy who like houses that were of this vintage and I wanted to decorate it as such, kind of how my Italian grandmother has her place in West Palm Beach. Nowadays I almost 40 years old living in Vegas and once again dreaming about FLA lol

Dreyfuss the dog was absolutely adorable!! I believe he was on both this show and Golden Girls at the same time, taking turns between the two shows at once!!

He was on a few golden girls episodes because on the show the Weston's lived next door to the golden girls. In real life they did film GG in the soundstage next door to Empty Nest

Season 3 episode 16. The Mentor. This is the last appearance by Danny Thomas while he was alive. 22:55 He died four days after the episode aired.

The funniest blooper is at 12:27 when Kristy cracks up in paint class...lol.

I liked this show alot when Barbra character was on.

This is priceless!

i’ve never watched this show but now i’m hooked and now have a quest!!!

I was so in love with Kristy McNichol at the time this show was on T.V. it broke my heart when she gave up on the entertainment industry. What a wonderful person she was and still is. I hope she found the happiness she was looking for. she was and still is so attractive. Richard Mulligan was so funny! his sudden death was tragic. and sorry to hear about Dinah Manoffs'' son dying so soon

Some actors stay in character (or attempt to lol) even when they flub the lines. He just seems like an old pro and came across as mildly amused to me. Plus the way the cast treated him was super affectionately, and if he were a jerk, I don’t think that would be the case.

I was looking for this, I felt the same way. I even googled if he was hard to work with. He seems to get bent out of shape pretty often. Still love watching him act, though!

Those Battles were so great, it was awesome to see the Actors being real and having to be physical. Kristy was truly an athlete. I got Overalls because of her and wore them for years. Time for a new pair!

Harry : Richard was 56 in 1988, and was 63 when it finished in 1995, 5 years after in 2000 he passed.

Dinah: “THERE’S THE CRICKET, I SWEAR TO GOD!” 😂

its amazing how pissed off Harry looks when some one makes a mistake...but in the episode he comes across as such a nice guy........

I sure love this show it was like a line up with the Golden Girls and empty nest on Saturday night it was a perfect line-up they don't make lineups like this with shows that anymore all you see is reality shows like stupid Big Brothers they sure don't make shows like these anymore and I wish it would bring him back I wish they would bring it back with the lineup of The Golden Girls on the Hallmark Channel they'll be really nice time to change it up from Frasier to put empty nest maybe that would be nice

Danny thomas born 1-6-12, died exactly 1 month after he turned 79 2-6-1991, Richard Mulligan was born 11-13-1932, he died 9-26-2000 at the age 67 2 months before he turned 68,

Probably one of the most funniest spinoffs in history... Cast was well rounded and equally funny! Kristy was 🔥 AF, David was the ultimate leech, Richard never lost a step from Soap...

@@unclebobunclebob The original spinoff episode featured Rita Moreno as a doctor's wife. The doctor was still alive, but he was always busy, and her daughter had just gone to college, so she was experiencing Empty Nest Syndrome. (Hence the title of the GG episode and the spinoff). David Leisure is the only one from the episode to make it to the show, but his character was changed slightly. They changed the whole premise of the show from "wife dealing with empty house" to "widower dealing with his grown children who never seemed to leave, taking away the Empty Nest". Which was actually funnier.

Dinah Manoff, who played Carol, played Marty Maraschino in the film version of Grease. And was also on Soap.

This breaks my heart: Dinah Manoff has 3 kids, son Dashiell and twin boys. Sadly Dashiell died January 7, 2017 while being a passenger in a car accident on the way back to school at Washington State University.

Dinah Manoff made being needy look so good! What a great actress she is. Richard Mulligan’s acting is so natural. No wonder Park Overall was such a great actress. Richard got such a rise out of her! The chemistry of the cast was wonderful! Dinah and Richard worked together on Soap. Dinah and Krispy worked together on Family. One of my favorite shows ever!
