Well you not going to have to worry about how tall your Christmas tree is with those high ceilings! 😃🎄 Lovely house! It is going to be so much fun decorating and fitting it out exactly how you want! Well done after all the trauma you had to go through with the purchase stage! Maggie definitely LOVES it!

My grandparents had a three dry house in NW London the ground had really high ceilings . The artificial Christmas tree was very tall , as years went by she did become a little thread bare

I landscaped gardens back in the day! I worked for a very wealthy man who bought properties. Location was close to Goodwood. Very rural, lots of old cottages. So cottage garden theme it was. I brought those old ruined gardens back to life and I loved doing it. 💗👍👍👍

Congratulations on your new house. One thing I noticed is the water from next doors conservatory. I would just check that it is not causing a damp problem with the corner of your house. Your wall looks wet in the video.

Your home is beautiful. Very spacious, love the ceiling height! A tip that may be helpful to you for your renovations, start a 3 ring binder to keep everything in. You can get sleeve protectors to put your receipts in. You put the receipts in an envelope- mark on the front what room it’s for and then put into the sleeve protector. It makes it very easy to know where everything is and separating them into different rooms makes it easier to locate the receipts. You can add any emails, sketches, contracts etc… Just a thought. Whatever you do with your home, it will be stunning. Maggie looks so happy and such a lovely back garden. Congratulations again to you and Zara! And of course Maggie!

@@mandynuttall6627 I forgot to add that the binder is also great for keeping any manuals or warranties that you might have for any appliances that you purchase. Then when there is any issues, you know exactly where to look.

This property is amazing and I know you and zara will make it your own in no time (looking forward to all the interior/reno content). Just a note to keep an eye on the outdoor pipe that is causing damp to your lower wall and the wall of your neighbour - its easily rectified and will prevent any internal damp (i got an internal wall replastered without realising there was a damaged outdoor gutter and the damp came back pronto...so a lesson learnt)

I too, noticed that outside wall was wet. Could be something as simple as a loose tile or broken gutter. Definitely do not leave this issue until later.

Yep, that’s what’s I noticed straight away. Check out what is causing that damp in the corner of the wall between yours and your neighbours. Don’t want to risk a costly repair due to hopefully something that is simply and cheaply rectified if caught in time. Otherwise great house/garden….how exciting?! 😮🎉❤

Congrats on your new house - it looks lovely! Just one thing I noticed in the garden is your neighbour needs to sort their guttering out where their garden room/extension is. It looks a little damp in the corner which could affect your property! Other than that, considering the age of the house it looks in pretty good shape and spacious for a Victorian house. Now you have a blank canvas to play with colour! 🌈Enjoy! 😊

As a family solicitor I would beg you to make sure that you have a legal agreement in place to cover what you will do if/when one of you wants to sell the house. It probably feels like that will never be the case, but after 30years in a law practice I assure you such an agreement is an absolute necessity. Also, if you don't already have them you need wills to cover what would happen if the unthinkable happened.I've seen families torn apart all for th same of people not being willing to plan ahead.

Hi Luke and Zara when you were in your garden the wall behind you was wet and your adjourning wall. The pipe on the neighbours side was discharging onto both walls. You need to approach your neighbours about this as it will cause serious damp issues. Peace 🧚🏻‍♀️

Congratulations, thats a great house. We had high ceilings a couple of houses ago and I really miss them, they add such a great sense of space. Perfect mix of liveable now with lots of potential. That garden is amazing for London, I love gardening and can see so many different outcomes for that space, can't wait to watch it evolve. Talk to your neighbours about getting that downpipe and gutter at the back fixed asap as the wall is damp and it will bring dampness into your house and theirs (it looks like an easy fix). Lovely house ! Your neighbours extension needs looking at as there’s water marks on their rendering at 19:03 which is also affecting your brickwork. If it’s not sorted both you and your neighbour will have a damp problem.

The master bedroom fireplace is absolutely breathtaking. The tiles are sooooo beautiful!

Based on what I’ve seen of other homes like yours in London you’ve scored big with that huge kitchen and a back garden that is south facing and such a good size. Seeing this house reminds me when I bought my first house with my other half. A large terrace victorian house with a cellar and south facing garden in North london. Spent nearly 15yrs in that house restoring it and making it our own. Stripping fireplace paint off, restoring the staircase amongst other things. Seeing your excitment of your new purchase reminds me when we bought ours. The space, the grandeur and it was ours (well the banks) You will have a lot of fun making it your own.

No.2 I would check if that neighbour's extension wall with the glass roof that we see at 17:18 affects your house in some way. It seems to have gutter issues...the wall is dripping wet and green moss is growing all the way down at the point of contact with your house where there may be a water issue...Have them install a properly functioning gutter that empties away from your house⁉

Very envious of your high ceilings and original coving/ceiling Rose's. Your idea of eventually extending the side return is great but please review the idea of a glass roof. We had one and when it rained the noise was very loud you couldn't hold a conversation with someone sitting next to you. OK I live in Wales and when it rains it pours!! But it is something to bear in mind we had ours replaced with a tiled roof and it is not only warmer but a place we use summer and winter.

Hi Luke and Zara I am so thrilled for you both. The house is a dream home now in my opinion, especially in London. I feel the flooring in the master bedroom is the priority. Also a lawnmower/ strimmer. You don't want Maggie up to her knees in unwanted grass. She's only used to neat park grass. Check for glass etc too. Everything else is absolutely FANTASTIC. If you intend to use the fire place downstairs it will effect which chimney walls you can take out upstairs been there done this 😮

Excellent property purchase. Although you have big dreams for improvements keep in mind it is already very functional as it is. My first concern would be that incredibly damp patch on the kitchen wall where it joins the neighbouring property. Something needs to be done about that as a priority. Consider removing the upstairs carpet and placing compressed wood panelling on the wood floor that is already there. That will give you tome to consider whether to renovate original floors or overlay new flooring on the compressed wood. You can always repurpose the compressed wood for cabinetry, furniture or in the loft for flooring across the beams etc if you end renovating the floor. I actually love how light the everything white looks so I would suggest you consider colours much lighter than pastels to keep the light bouncing around the rooms. You could add more colour definition with gold embellishment using gold leaf. ❤❤❤
