As we say in Greece and I don't know if it makes any sense in English, "The more height he lacks, the more talent he has" !! He's an amazingly funny, awesome person and fantastic guitar player. Every one fo his notes hits me in the heart !!! Just look at this face, attitude and smile and tell me you don't love him...!!! I can't imagine Nightwish without him !!! Emppu 4 Ever !!! 😃🤟🤘

@@ollytherock7324 Your mike was fine 👍 the audio and video differs from part to part, but that's understood because they are from a different time, quality and technology. When you edit and join different videos, I think you have to normalize at least the sound to be on equal level !!! But generally was good !!

Wonderful tribute to Emppuu!! He deserve that !

Erno Matti Juhani "Emppu" Vuorinen really is a fantastic guitarist. I love the fact that he doesn't play for his ego. He does what is required for each song and never overplays. I also love the way he gives the fist bump to Floor after she hits that last epic high note in GLS. Also in the latest video release "Devil and the Deep Dak Ocean" you will notice how when Floor hits the really long note on "For you are the cradle of the image of god” Emppu raises his arms in celebration! I think he sincerely appreciates Floor's vocal ability and is so proud to have her as his singer. Tuomas is as well. He just flashes that cheshire cat smile of his from behind his keys like some proud father. Great video Olly. Thanks for spending so much effort searching for all of these special tidbits for us to enjoy!

There are times where I search the Internet looking for those little surprises and every once in a while I do find them. It's like searching for gold.

Emppu is very talented. It kinda sucks that he doesn't get many opportunities to display his guitar chops. He plays tastefully, not showing off too much, even though I know he can shred. Also, he always looks like he's having lots of fun on stage and it's obvious he has a great sense of humor. It's no wonder he gets along so well with Marco (another guy with a great sense of humor). Thanks for uploading this video giving the little guy the spotlight for once haha! Cheers!

@@ollytherock7324 The audio was good. No echo! I'm not holding my breath about Emppu getting more guitar parts, but it would be nice. The old Nightwish albums had more guitar and less orchestral/keyboard parts so if I want to hear more of his guitar, I just pull out those albums. He also plays in a rock band called Brother Firetribe, but I haven't heard much of that band. Cheers!

Love How emppu plays, we can feel the pleasure of someone that do what really love. We can feel that pleasure... Another nice thing on his solos in Nightwish songs: he does what the Song needs, giving space for other aspects of the music. A well-resolved man with his potential, respecting the talent of those with whom he shares. This Man, makes me want to play guitar, like him( and actually he did It) Every time i see end of an era, i Just watch his stage presence(especially in dark chest of wonders) its Just contagious. This is our Emppu Vourinen, The eternal little elf of heavy metal Forest!

I know all these songs, but had to think a little to remember the names of some of them. I believe the gist of it is that Emppu never (or at least rarely) overdo his guitar play in relation to the music. He does not go "over the top". Please watch his guitar solo in the song "Ever Dream" performed at Wacken 2013. Pay special attention to how it ends. And I mean visually. This is our Emppu. PS; Who gets away with ruffling up Tarja's hair on stage?

I have a bunch of Empuu videos on one of my playlists. I just love him so much. If you are ever down just pull this video out and you will feel better.............. :-)

@@ollytherock7324 I was just watching another video of someone doing the Tampere concert in parts, and it reminded me of something. The song Stargazers is going to get blocked world wide. A lot of reactors have had that problem with this song.It may cause you problems. I just wanted to warn you..........

@@ollytherock7324 I know. I don't know why it is this one song. The sad part is he had bought the DVD and was doing it from that. You can't win for trying. I am really getting worried that they are going to gradually get rid of reactor channels.......... :-(

@@fdsannie More and more videos are keeping blocked due to copyright issues. It's not like we make money on the videos. So sad.. You right, looks like the future for reactors are going away.....

Old Nw is my favorite era because it was more guitar driven. It wasn't as complex compositionally with orchestrations that the guitar could fill in more of the audio space. With more orchestrations taking up the mix in the later era the guitars have to chill a bit. Its a balancing act with compositions which Nw does well. Nw comes from the place of "serving the song" rather than the need to shine in every moment or balls out all the time. Its clear Emppu can shred but its tasteful to the song. Even though his solos are short its very effective, expresses lots of technique and control.

I really love his style....and the passion of playing

He is a great guy, nice he is being recognized. He hates to be in the spotlight, he just wants to play the guitar. He and Tuomas are the only two in Nightwish now who was there from the beginning.

Good 'ole Erno. I actually just created a new gnome character in World of Warcraft Classic, with blonde hair, and named him Emppu. Can't believe the name was available.

Olly, as a suggestion, from a 10 yr sound engineer, might boost the video volume just a couple db (decibels) and lower your mic's volume. Just an idea :) .

Beer isn't solo - for Emppu it's a lifeline. He should sing Mah-mah-mah-mah my Corona, and a solo on top of that.

This sounds like 'Part 1' :) There are so many - these were almost all from Tarja's era. So Imaginaerum ec. have more Emppu solos... to come on your channel?

Yarr, he can play but have no reason to show off like others who must show everything they can do in every song. He add his part to the NW sound and that is not a 5 minutes Malmsteen solo with 25,000 notes.

@ytabbler Malmsteen can shred like crazy, but he doesn't play with emotion like Emppu does IMO. I used to love shredders, but now I get so bored of that stuff. It;'s just showing off with no substance. Cheers!
