I personally prefer a consistent narrator cause it feels more personal if that makes sense. Like with multiple narrators it feels more like a content factory, with one narrator we can form a “relationship” (I use that term somewhat loosely) with that narrator, it feels more intimate. Also I don’t like this narrators commentary or rather his lack thereof. The usual narrator is more interesting to listen to, he has a wholesome vibe.

I had a coworker threaten to hit me while I couldn't speak (I was so stressed I temporarily lost the ability to speak) and then when I rightfully complained to management (this wasn't her first offense, people had quit because of her, which management knew) she preceeded to harrass me for months, I ended up quitting because of the stress, she still has her job.

my coworker was a nice person but she was super slow and i'd always have to fix her work. i was so stressed because she'd have 4 projects to work on and complain about how busy she was and i'd have 20 and i had to fix her errors. so one day i finally bitched at my boss enough that he told her to do better and when i got to work she was so upset with me (not my fault she sucked) she forgot my name when speaking to him and trying to complain about me. we all shared a big office and she was speaking to our boss and said, her and pointed at me because she literally couldn't remember my name. I saw her after I left (because of her stressing me out and my boss not doing anything about it) and she forgot my name again, i could tell she recognized me but she didn't say my name when I said Hi (her name) to her. i am probably the villain in her story lol, but your story reminded me of that. I never threatened her, i was always nice to her, even when i was annoyed and stressed out i never said anything mean to her.

@WomanRoaring it's really frustrating, especially when you and I had every right to complain. I had never been rude to the coworker who threatened me either, and frankly, nothing I did warranted that reaction from her. She knew she messed up, hence the harassment and she got so lucky that management was ineffective and HR is a joke because she should have been fired.

@@WomanRoaringshe was probably angry because you literally never complained to her about it, just went straight to management and got her in trouble. If you have a problem with a “nice” coworker, why wouldn’t you just speak to them about it? I’ve been considered the “slow worker” at places. Sorry, not everyone’s brains work like yours. I don’t “suck” at my job because I take longer than you, we simply work differently. That’s no reason to shit on someone. They could be disabled, whether visible or not. I am, & it gets really fucking frustrating when every single job you go to you aren’t good enough at because you physically CANNOT do as much the others.

Worked one security job where over the course of two weeks they would show up 3-4 hours late(these were 12 hour shifts, mind you), refuse to leave the guard shack(because they were friends and wanted to talk to one another) to relieve the rear guard for another hour until I finally just started yelling at the one guard to get their butt moving to the back gate and shame on them because this was a Mother who needed to see her kids to school. EVERY OTHER Guard there was complaining, nothing got done, they never got fired. They literally had their Dad's call in to quit on their behalf after 2 weeks of this nonsense. Another the guy showed up late for every shift he ever worked, for months, sometimes just wouldn't even show up, you'd have to send a cab out for him to knock on his door--the owner of the company AGREED to do this as procedure and he would pay for a cab to wake him up. Me and three other employees were even begging for this guy to be canned, even saying we'd gladly worked double shifts(these 8 hours normally so not as awful) for however long was needed, didn't even care if there was overtime we just really really hated having to call for a cab to get them to go out to his house just because 'he went golfing(drinking)' the night before. It was so bad even the guy himself would come in, hours afterwards and tell us he thought he was going to get fired. He *never* did. Left both jobs. You can have bad employees, every job will have them but poor management keeps those bad employees and puts more work on everyone else, good management sets the standard and doesn't tolerate it.

There was a dude I worked with at a supermarket. He was a job-hopper but in the sense that his elderly parents would force him to get a job and he'd work for a week or so before quitting and giving his parents a sob story as to why the job sucked and he shouldn’t have to work there. He made it clear he NEVER wanted to work. When he worked with me, he liked to make mass shooting jokes. Stuff like "I should bring my AK up here. Would suck if someone shot this place up." He also liked to say unhinged shit in front of customers on top of having a FILTHY mouth. I curse like a sailor myself but doing that at work around kids is a quick way to catch complaints and get coached. The last straw was two-fold: 1. He was having a continuous fight with the Cart Associate which escalated to him telling the cart Associate to meet him at the Dirt Cheap so they could "settle things." Another Associate heard this and reported it to our team lead. (Side note: the cart guy was really nice and the fight was due to the other guy making gross jokes around customers, which cart guy called him out for.) And 2. When he learned that the team lead knew, he looked at me and said "I put in my two weeks." Then he just... left. In the middle of his shift. When my boss walked over looking for him, I looked at her baffled and said "He, uh... he left." Learned later that this dude thought putting in his two weeks meant he'd keep getting paid without having to go to work.

We had a strict "no sleeping at your desk" policy, and one lady would often fall asleep at her desk. Not to mention she was one of the trainers, and was terrible at it. And demanded that I bring her seashells from my vacation to California for her fish tank, and got mad when I refused (we didn't even make it to the beach). Then made me VERY uncomfortable when she saw me with my hair down and told me "The waves in your hair reminds me of Jesus!" (I'm an atheist, but don't talk about it). The manager wanted to fire her, but she was like, five different kinds of protected so it was hard. Then we got furloughed for COVID, and when I was brought back, I noticed right away that she wasn't...

He's a serious liability to the store, but he's, like 3-4 different types of "protected class," so I think they're just too scared to fire him. Not to mention, our store manager has an absolute heart of gold 💛 and thinks everyone deserves another chance. As a recovering alcoholic myself (6 years sober!), I totally feel for the guy, but I'm worried about his health, as well as the store liability he causes. 😞

Was actually just talking to my coworker about our nightmare. Its our assistant manager. Shes a witch with a capital C. Not as bad as some of these stories, but shes awful to interact with. Older woman, old enough to have retired years ago (and should have). Constantly berates employees, talks about them ehind their backs, complains that none of us do anything (I've NEVER seen her do more than answer the store phone and maybe make two pizzas), is rude to customers, etc. When I came back to work after being out for two months on a medical peave (broken ankle) she complained I was being lazy because I had to have shorter shifts and sometimes to sitting breaks. I was in a walking boot and still healing. According to my bf, who also works at the same place, she used to go on screaming fits and throw things at employees. Thankfully she doesnt do this anymore, but shes still horrible to be around. No one likes her, thinks shes overly abrasive, and has no idea why shes still employed.

I work at a company that sells various things related to home improvement (cabinets, flooring, lights, etc) and therefore has a pretty big warhorse. About 8 months ago, we changed the way we shipped cabinets so that we no longer had to hire people to load trucks with cabinets. Most people in this job got moved to another area of the warehouse, but this one guy found an abandoned shed in a corner of the warehouse (we tried to sell sheds once but failed). He brought in a beanbag, chair, and small foldable desk in and for about 5 months he slept and played video games. When he finally got caught, they took the doors of the shed. The manager didn’t even check to see who this guy was and what his job was. For 3 more months, he sleeps in broad daylight. He just got fired 3 weeks ago.

I once worked at a hotel where you'd swear one of the housekeepers had to have some incriminating dirt on the higher ups because the stunts she repeatedly pulled at work should have gotten her fired ten times over. Her uniform was one size too small that when she bent over, you could see the color of her G string (if she was wearing underwear at all). She habitually showed up to work drunk or high. She'd flirt with male guests and when it came to cleaning rooms - she didn't. More than once, other housekeepers had to go into her rooms and give it a proper cleaning - essentially doubling their workload because that one housekeeper couldn't be arsed to do her job. Her worst act was being caught leaving bloodied sheets on a bed. Imagine a guest coming across something like that! And yet, that housekeeper remained employed. That lazy sack of crap was still employed there when I had left (the lack of disciplinary action against this woman was one of the major reasons why I had quit). That woman was collecting workers compensation for an injury she had received after slipping on a patch of ice in a location that the hotel staff was strictly forbidden from traversing during the winter. She wasn't even clocked in when the injury happened - but the hotel still compensated her!

Such a huge violation of the client's rights and safety, especially as they must have been seriously unwell at the time. GitLab employee who deleted their entire production database (where the data for regular users is stored, as opposed to staging or development that stores only a subset of users or developers). It might sound unintuitive that they didn't immediately get fired, but that amount of raw access to a database server and the lack of testing of backup strategies was the company's fault. Granted I've only ever needed to do this like, 4 times in 10 years, always because some software upgrade corrupted some metadata table (and yes, we have test systems that, in theory, mirror production which we roll out upgrades to first. Sometimes upgrade failures don't happen until upgrading prod)

24:50 "sick offense" does not equal "sycophants." And some poor hearing-impaired viewer is either confused as hell or simply sighs at the howler of a mis-translation. And then makes the best of it and just keeps moving forward. (My father was seriously hearing impaired and this was sometimes an issue.)

Not super screwed up, but an employee smoked pot in the public restroom and only got a slap on the wrist, despite it being a very small two stall bathroom where it could've been a health hazard to any employees or customers with asthma or respiratory issues. I'm a daily smoker myself, but I keep that shit at home and do it at the end of the day. Doesn't help that it was a pet store and the smallest amount of smoke can kill birds, but to be fair, the bathrooms were on the other side of the store from the birds.

120 hours per week??? There are only 168 hours in a week. I'm not going to say they're lying, but that sounds a bit hyperbolic. That's triple the hours of a standard work week! 80 hours is normal for many people, 100 I've heard of but rarely. But 120 is questionable, but admittedly possible, though not every single week. They would eventually suffer medical issues related to exhaustion if that was every week.

Wow. What was it? The second story? The one about an adult in a school for kids who were abused, abusing the kids further. The narrators commentary was to make a joke?? They didn't have to comment at all, let alone say something sensitive or compassionate. Truly. But cracking a joke about grown ups being mean? Tasteless. It's like a loved one telling you they have cancer, and because you're uncomfortable you try to joke about it. 99% chance it's not gonna land. Not everything needs to be a joke.

You do know you don't have to try for some sort of witty one-liner at the end of a story, right? If it comes naturally, sure, but oftentimes it feels like you're trying way too hard to force a joke.

I feel like some of these didn’t age very well, this is the 2nd one that covertly tried to throw a particular “Don Juan” under the bus as some villain. Obviously OP is not very well educated on the subject, as clearly they’d know the 8 year long temper tantrum thrown by Don Juan’s super villains have done more to ruin life in a particular country than all the other members of said “fraternity” and that includes their associates they created like triple K, and their favorite opponents the BL,Ms. Weird they’re on the same team. Oh hey, fun fact, the Demoncraps created both the aforementioned super hate groups, but anywho… Life is so much better now that a dozen eggs is $4

22:05 Drunk AND high on cocaine? Sure, you can do both, but taking cocaine pretty much neutralizes all the effects of alcohol. If you don't know they drank, you wouldn't notice. How I know that? Well, had a nightout with a nice girl i knew for a few years. It was our first date. She was very, very drunk when we went to bed. 30 minutes later i wake up and she is gone. Banging her dealer in an other hotel room, cause she had no money to pay him. Not a trace left from the alcohol (i had to carry here up the stairs before).
