Finally got my Empire SL built & what a wonderful ride it is. I’ve owned several other top end bikes from Specialized, Bianchi, Cervelo, & Cannondale. This is by far the nicest riding bike without sacrificing speed, cornering & overall competitiveness. Highly highly recommend. You would NOT be disappointed. I look forward to every day in the saddle now more so than I ever had with my other fine machines. It’s something you have to feel & experience to appreciate. They really just flat out nailed the geometry. Hard to describe but maybe it’s the steeper seat angle. I feel in a position to more comfortably deliver more power to the cranks. Kudos again to the Fezzari team in their absolute finest rode creation so far. And the pricing?? Simply the icing to the best cake ever.

How can you compare your frame from a Bianchi Oltre 4? In terms of Strength and component ?

The Empire is more on par with the Bianchi Infinito which I owned. The Oltre is more race geometry. I own the Empire now. It’s strong & durable in comparison. I can also say the fork is much better than the Infinito as far as both stiffness & compliance. What are you asking with your question on component?

7:30 Could someone please explain why a minor change in seattube angle would allow for more pelvic rotation? Isn’t this just going to affect saddle fore-aft? Why not just slide the saddle forward?

A steeper seat tube angle will allow a rider to engage their core with less flexibility in the hips. If you pedal, or do leg presses in the gym (cycling is basically leg presses), with a rounded back (disengaged core), you are going to hurt. By having a steeper seat tube angle the rider doesn't have to rotate their pelvis as far to keep their core engaged. A slack seat tube angle will require the rider to rotate their hips pretty far to keep an engaged core. Most of us are not that flexible, and then to hold that position for a coupe hours takes a lot of flexibility and core muscles that most of us don't have. Using frame geometry to help with body position to keep your core engaged is one little trick that can keep you comfortable on the bike. sliding your saddle forward can have a similar effect, but you only have so much fore-aft saddle adjustment, and that is tied to seat tube angle.
