This brought tears to my eyes. You never know what someone is going through. I am currently in nursing school and I plan to make a difference in nursing. No I will not be able to promise my patients everything will be okay but if I can be that voice in the wind and encourage them then I plan to do that. I loved this video because it brought so much truth. Be kind always! You never know what the person next you is going through.

i don't see how this has anything to do with empathy. actually, to me it comes off as opposing empathy. This video envokes sympathy. We see snapshots of people from a third person perspective, with a small story behind their image, which tends to make people in to a character, instantly. I sympathize with the person who doesn`t understand If I were to empathize with her, I imagine I would feel a bit confused and dumb.

Empathy means to see something from that person's perspective. Not to feel the same thing. Because whether u agree with or not, or have experienced the same thing or not, you can empathize by seeing their perspective.

TheXant0s i see. then this video addresses logical empathy at best. i still dont think this video portrays empathy. for example, we might see a snapshot of a hooker getting clients and make all kinds of negative assumptions about her victim hood. meanwhile, escorts are fighting like crazy right now to be recognized in Canada while the government is doing everything they can to negate hookers as people. making assumptions about people based on small fragments of their life is not empathy. this is almost more like examples of prejudice.

+fnog9 i see where your coming from, so ill try to explain it in the way i see it. i dont think its the same as prejudice, because you can never experience all of the other persons being, also theres almost always no need to. empathy means taking a situation or something else that another person is dealing with in his/her life and empathizing with that.
