The last inning of Steve, I still remember that epic inning. I have not seen such atmosphere in any other match. It was all about Steve Waugh. His last match, his last inning, the last session. Crowd was going mad watching their favourite hero batted like a true legend which he was during all his cricketing career. They all were showing Steve's famous red handkerchief for all the five days. ❤️ This is the only time in my life I was praying for India to draw the match and not to win the match as my fav player and Idol Stave Waugh was battling for his team to save the deciding match and the series for the last time. Steve Waugh - An outstanding player and a iconic personality . It was very happy to see Legend caught by another Legend in the bowling of a Legendary bowler. Those were the very auspicious and golden days of Cricket when we see Sachin , Sourav, Dravid, Laxman, Kumble, Lee, Mecgrath, Warne, Steve Waugh playing together. I think I am very fortunate that I got the pleasure to watch and enjoy the real art of Cricket by all Legendary Players. Those days we have no T20,no ipl, no ,BBL and no any other league, but it's very admirable for all of us. Now , there is a lack of temperament and patience in Cricketers. Steve as a batsman was late middle order bat and bowler as 2nd change. Batting skills also not unique or classy . Bowling too , not much pace, relied on swing. Fielding too average. BUT...70k+ people standing up and applauding , including opponents. 50 test match 50s. Played for almost 20yrs. Man was a gutsy player, if he made up his mind, he will see it through, no matter the odds. Determined to the core . Very strong character. As a captain , results were evident, 16 continuous test victories, WC too. His team in early 2000 was the strongest ever, top quality batsmen, top quality bowlers, top fielding and he maintained that team for years. Deserves all the applause . Unlike Ricky ponting and Steve Smith, steve Waugh didn't resort to cheating , playing the game in the right spirit. Apart from all this, he did good charity work in kolkatta and Mumbai slums.

I saw that entire match on television. I have seen some of the legendary player's farewell but I think this was the all-time greatest farewell in the history of the game. Though I'm an Indian I can remember I was preying for Steve to play well in that match & what a fighting knock it was. He displayed in that one inning what he had done all his life, saving Australia at the crunch time. With each and every shot I was jumping and I was actually getting late for work in the morning but I seat back and watched the entire game and the presentation. There were tears in my eyes during the entire inning and in the end, I was a proud Steve Waugh fan. ❤️❤️❤️ I wish to meet this legend once in my life.
