Tom Jones is a scumbag father and allows his son to be homeless and gives everything to one son but nothing to the other. Tom blames a woman from a one night stand for "tricking" him. Fine, but that poor son was innocent and doesn't deserve the trauma that Tom Jones has inflicted on him by ignoring him and the poor boy clearly feels no self esteem due to his father's rejection. Tom Jones is disgusting!

Same here. I've seen the performance the times and it always ends in tears. If I'm not mistaken, it's a folk song titled, Plywe Kacza ("the duckling swims"). The lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and son going off to war, asking what if he never comes back. The dialogue is told in the context of a duckling crossing a river, which symbolizes crossing into the afterlife. Of note, that performance occurred before the current war in Ukraine. I'm sure the song is extra meaningful today. Also, from what I've read, three of the mentors didn't turn because their teams were already full. Otherwise, in sure all mentors would've turned.

It's normal for everyone to stand up... It shows the union of the past and traditional instruments with the present. The moment that most of the population are united in their impulse to act.

Only a suggestion, but the first song is special and I'd recommend a special note in the description. The Ukrainian traditional song “Plywe Kacza” translates literally to “the duckling swims.” The lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and a son going off to war. As long as there have been wars, there have been sad songs about war and losing children or loved ones to the devastation of war. Another translation: “My dear mother, what will happen to me if I die in a foreign land?” “Well, my dearest, you will be buried by other people.” A Duckling Swims in the Tisza In traditional versions of the song, the lyrics follow the life and death of a young woman who refuses to marry a man she does not love, going against her mother's wishes. During the 1940s, the lyrics were substantially reworked by the Transcarpathian writer Vasyl Grendzha-Donsky, to tell the story of a soldier preparing to go to war. In most versions of the lyrics, the titular duckling crossing the river represents death and passage to the afterlife.

How mistakenly I see this song being mistaken for "Russian" - these Russians, apart from the words "duck" and "son", will not understand at all what the meaning of the song is about. At the beginning, study the primary sources of people, and only then express an opinion ...

Hey, a duck is swimming on the Tysyn A duck swims along the Tysyn I don't know where I will die I don't know where I will die Hey, I will die in a foreign land I will die in a foreign land It's not a pity, mother, will you? It's not a pity, mother, will you? Hey, how could I not be sorry, son? How could I not be sorry, son? You were lying on my heart You were lying on my heart Hey, a duck is swimming on the Tysyn A duck swims along the Tysyn PS A "direct translation" cannot mentally convey the feelings of the people when individual phrases express much more and more deeply than what an outsider can understand after reading the automatically translated text

Thanks for posting the translation. I was considering doing that but I had already posted quite a bit. And as you say thosetranslated words do not come close to the heartfelt meaning of native speaking people of Ukraine as I understand it. @@user-vo5nv3os3p
