Artist statement:
‘Exploring societal expectations-struggle, serenity, or adaptability?’
My artistic journey reflects an emotional evolution, from initially confronting societal pressures with anxiety and rebellion, to eventually achieving a tranquil state. Confronting societal chameleons, my work unveils the subtle hypocrisy embedded in human interactions. The artworks encapsulate the journey of struggling to find both inner and outer peace in my surroundings.
Curatorial note:
Bakhtiyar’s artistic prowess is most evident in her work, primarily manifested on large canvases using a mix of acrylics, watercolors, oils, and charcoal.
Her art serves as a powerful commentary on the inherent tension between individuality and societal expectations. The canvases vividly capture the emotions of frustration and anger before ultimately conveying a sense of calmness that accompanies self-discovery and acceptance.
