I was adopted when I was 13. Mom and Dad already had 3 of their own. One year later, they adopted my biological baby sister who was 11. Two years later they adopted 3 biological brothers who were 6, 4, and 18 months. Here we are 27 years later. Mom and Dad have 8 kids, 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The reason? Back in January of 1964, two people fell in love.❤❤❤

My foster kids started jumping and crying when we gave them the adoption news and immediately they started asking to call us mom sissy etc. Sadly after DHS lied to us and promised the dad was not going to be in the picture and that we were adopting them, we got the heartbreaking news birth dad was actually out of prison and coming to take them away. They left our arms balling. We have since made the decision to foster and took the classes, we will get our license soon. I know the grief of them leaving us again will push me to my limits as a human but it was such a great feeling to give those kids love and care.

I always thought I never wanted kids, but now as I'm getting older, I'm realizing how important my dad has always been to me my whole life. He's my best friend and he's always believed in me and helped me through my toughest times. I'm so thankful for him and I love him so much. Then I remember there's kids and teens out there who feel unwanted and alone. And that I want to be that same person to them one day as my dad is to me now. Cause they deserve the love and support they feel like they never got the chance to have. I just hope me and whoever I end up with one day can be those parents to kids who need it the most.

These stories are so touching, and I commend all step parents who love child as own. I have a step daughter who I've helped raise for 10 years, and I have unconditional love. Couldn't be more proud. Her biological father is actually a good father to her, and we get along because of the respect we have for each other in our love and well being for this child. That's all that matters !

@9:30 The look on her face is like restrained sorrow to be moving on from a loving home again, but has that acceptance because this is just her life and it's okay because she's used to it by now, is so fucking heartbreaking. Then when he tells her thst they want her to be their family, from genuine shock to disbelief to pure joy in about 2 seconds, as she realises she's just got everything she ever wanted. She'll never have to move again, never have to start over again, never have to be afraid of where she's going. She'll never have to limit her hopes or worry about being rejected. All she has to do, is be loved and be wanted. To have someone she can love and trust. She can finally be able to truly appreciate so many of the things the world takes for granted. I rewound and watched that part 3 times before I could move on to the rest of the video. I don't know these people, but I couldn't be happier for them (and all the other families) and I truly hope that only the most beautiful things this world can offer come to their future. It seems the old timers were wrong ... you can choose your family.❤️

I’m the luckiest girl in the world. My biological father wasn’t safe to be around when I was a child. (He was a violent meth addict.) In my 30 years of life, I’ve had not one but TWO men choose to be my dad. They both have stepped up. I haven’t asked either to adopt me ONLY because I don’t want to pick and make the other feel less valued. I was born a loved accident but I’ve been purposely chosen to be a daughter TWICE. Thank you God!

It's never too late for a child to know a good, 2-parent household. That reaction that both the children and the parents experience is unlike any other. There is no gadget, no amount of money, no moment, not even a friend that can give someone a leg up in life the way having good parents can. They know they have that relationship with each other, but saying it, and seeing it on paper breaks down all of the hard walls. I don't care who you are...tears will come.
