I am fostering a white child and I am black. I don’t care about a child’s color. My DSS gave us a child in need of a loving parent. We love our foster child and hope to adopt him.

I am an African-American woman, and let me tell you this...You two give me butterflies when you speak of your baby girl. There aren't too many families that consider how transracial adoption affects the child and their future as they grow into adulthood. Transracial adoption could be very traumatic for African-American children. However, it can also be beautiful. I love how you love Tyanna and how protective you are of her. Haircare, her education and being surrounded by peers that look like her, teaching her about African-American culture, removing yourselves from unsupportive family members, and residing in a diverse area; you two have made these changes because your love for Tyanna far exceeds your personal needs. Y'all are amazing! I wish you and Tyanna love, peace, and many blessings! 🥰

@@katpage9378 just for clarification, what we mean when we say kids don’t see color is that they don’t define color with specific attributes or stereotypes that society makes of those with color. I say this because my family is mixed and my daughter who is 6 is mixed. She is very light skinned (can pass for white) but her hair is a give away when it’s out because she has mixed kids hair. My daughter literally goes up to anyone because she doesn’t define any color to be “bad” if u will. As you said, yes you did see black kids different than yourself but you were fascinated by it not labeling them without even knowing them. I also think this channel can be a blessing for Tyanna’s birth family by giving them a glimpse into her life and hopefully that brings them comfort. God bless you 💕
I just found this channel. My youngest brother was adopted at 6 months old but he came to us at birth. I was 18 when he was born and I automatically fell in love with him and couldn't imagine life without him. The whole process of adoption is very emotional. We stayed with the birth mother at the hospital and when it was time to go home my heart broke for her and I also think of her often.
I honestly appreciate you both so much for giving us the privilege to be apart of your lives. I do believe in my heart, listening to you both that whenever or if the time comes for baby girl to meet or bi-relatives that you both will make the best decision possible for her because of how evident it is on how much you guys love that little girl, your daughter. You are wonderful parents and human beings. However, I kinda do agree with Jon on this because we don’t want baby girl to be heartbroken if they turn out to be unreliable. It is important to protect our children from that kind of hurt and disappointment. And if they turn out to be such, she can choose to be apart of their lives when she is old enough but for now, it’s y’all’s job to protect that sweet little girl. Great video. Have a happy and true 2022 ! True happiness, True success, true joy & peace, true friendships etc . Not because the year is new, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. (Words from Pastor Franklin). I agree, as long as it's safe, non-toxic & a healthy environment & relationship. We all know pre-tenns & teens can tend to want what's not good for them. But I have no doubt that Jon & Rihanna will always make the best decisions for her! That's their baby & always will be! ❤
Tyanna is in a loving home. You two are amazing parents.
I love that John shows his emotional side. Tyanna will have a full understanding of how she is supposed to be loved. Her dad (and mom) set a great example for her.
Rhi, Jon, and Ty…Thank you for sharing your family and journey with us. Thank you for ensuring Ty is at the forefront of every decision you make. It is truly a blessing to see how far we (the internet aunties and uncles who love and support your family) have all come together. I hope we can continue to see you all travel the world and experience the wonderful things life has to offer. Xoxo and cheers to an exciting 2022
I'm so proud of you as parents, and at the end of the day, a child wants to be loved unconditionally. It has nothing to do with color.
It was heart warming to see all your family and friends who did attend court in your Adoption Day video…this upload was lovely to listen to sending your family love ❤️ 🌸
Tyanna is blessed to have y’all and y’all are blessed to have her. Loving a child no matter their race is what’s important. People who asked you why is closed minded. 🦋
I appreciate your openness and your humility. Love don’t see colour and I see the love pouring out of both of you ❤️🥰
I totally watched this with tears in my eyes. As an African American female, I commend you for giving this little girl all the love she deserves. I know that you will seek out the support you need to ensure she is culturally aware and I am cheering for you both.
I’m so glad that this precious little girl has found the love of parents who deserve to have her as their own. You guys are amazing and deserve to create your family how you see fit. Thank you for providing so much information for those who don’t know where to start. Glad I found your channel, and got to meet such genuine people. I’m a 67 year African American woman and I just learned from you guys about foster care. Thank you for sharing and being such great parents to Tyanna.
You are the best parents that Tiyanna could ever have. As a father, you are emotional and protective because you both genuinely love your daughter. I wish there were more parents like you guys, the world would have been a better place for all of us. I truly applaud you from the bottom of my heart.
Jon is so protective of your family. It's a great and importance balance to have. I think you 2 articulated yourselves well and there's no need to justify your personal decisions. God bless you all! Ty for sharing!
I think y'all 2 are wonderful parents y'all interact with her all the time and can tell she's loved.

Thanks Bonnie ❤
Thanks for both being so open with what you’re going through at this time in your life. God bless you and your beautiful daughter!
As soon as daddy cried I instantly lost it with him. I felt your ❤️ for real! So sweet.
Wow! You are guys are amazing! I don’t even have the words. The support you have for not only tyanna but for each other is so refreshing. The way you guys disagree on tyanna & her biological family, but at the same time are open to each other’s ideas is so refreshing to see. I think that’s what a relationship is all about. I’m glad she is growing up with emotionally stable & loving parents.
I think so highly of you and Jon for the love and openness you two share with Tyanna as her parents. Always wishing you all nothing but the best as a family. Thanks for sharing. 😇😇💕💕
Your family is one of the most purest and beautiful examples of love I’ve ever experienced! ❤
You guys are the perfect understanding of parents for her.
I cry with tears of joy EVERY video.. I really truly LOVE yall.. You are truly BEAUTIFUL people! Not because you adopted a black child but because of all of the sacrifice you make to make Tyanna happy, to keep her connected to our culture and to loooooove her adequately! But what's more beautiful is that as much as Tyanna is blessed to have you as Parents YOU feel that you are the blessed ones to have her (and you are of course).. that's what you call TRUE TRUE LOVE ❤️
I absolutely Love you all. You are both amazing parents and are providing Tyanna with the tools that will help her grow, mature and navigate this life fearlessly and bravely.💯 This has made my day.🙌🏽 I look forward to your videos as it is quite the destresser for me...Love Tyanna...Her personality is Life💕💕🌻
I look up to y'all so much and would love to foster in the future! I'm not ready to be a parent anytime soon, but I'm already learning so much about parenting from y'all! I see both sides of the closed/open adoption. I think it's important to protect her until she's able to make those decisions for herself. Thanks for speaking about adoption so openly!
I've never teared up as much watching your vlogs as I have today. To me when a man shows his vulnerable side, which all came from speaking on the love that he has for his child is an amazing thing. Thank you for sharing even though to me and many others it wasn't necessary, but I'm sure you probably get constant questions. Christy Gior is an amazing mother with adopted children that I watch here on KZread, if you ever get a chance to watch her Rhianna when doing Tyanna hair. I hope that everyone had a great holiday season with love ones and wishing that 2022 brings you all the things your hearts desire. Much Love
I respect both of your views. I think it’s good to have boundaries and requirements if you want to be part of her life. Maybe starting to talk to them via the phone and then slowly incorporate visitation and make a schedule that works for you everyone. Love you guys and you guys are one of a kind for blessing her with an amazing home. It’s not easy to be in your place but it speaks super highly of everything you guys are doing for her culture, and staying in city limits and ect.
I love your energy guys! Thank you so much for this Q&A and all the consideration and respect you show. Love it! Congratulations!
I’m a 80 year old black great grandmother you are a blessing to humanity, much love and respect
Jon, you are one of the most sweetest and caring man, thank you for loving that precious girl the way you do. ❤
I’m really late to this party! I just want to tell you guys I think you are amazing parents no matter how it started only that you have a heart to. You guys embody the perfect love!
You are amazing human beings what a wonderful family! I love watching your journey - thanks for opening up your lives to us. Your integrity and commitment is so inspiring
You don’t know people on the internet, but they feel very genuine. ❤
Y'all doing such a great job. Taking unsupportive people out her life, teaching her her culture, etc I love it❤
