I agree with you when others comment on "have your own" children. I have adopted myself! My daughter at the age of five stated...".mommi I know why God made you wait for me because He knew one day I would need a mommi and you would need a daughter!" Out of the mouths of babes! Yes, she is my own. Blessings, Sharon

Si, hay mujeres u hombres que no pueden tener hijos. Los niños son una bendición. Padre es quien cría.
Cliffs: If you have the ability and resources to foster/adopt, please consider it. There are over 400,000 kids without permanent homes just in the US. If you can help just one, even for a short time, you have the ability to influence and change their lives forever. It is literally the best thing Rhianna and I have ever done.

Love this video, you guys!! You made me want to foster! Surprised my husband actually said he would consider it as well… but we currently have three bio kids, and only a 3 bedroom house… so our 16 year old has his room, and the two youngers share a room. We would need a bigger house, I think 🤔 Anyways, Jon, I wanted to know if you would ever consider making a video about having ADHD and challenges as an adult? Our oldest has ADHD, and I am just curious what a successful adult male faces in everyday life and specifically professionally? Basically, I have tons of questions! 🤣 Thanks for considering!

My favorite part was when she said don't think because one has a bigger house, more money etc they're not necessarily a better parent /situation for the child. Excellent point.. I never even thought it through like that.

@@TheSchoellerFamily Sure, but only love is also not enough.
I absolutely love and admire what you did. We adopted a 5 year old and an 11 month old sibling group 15 years ago from foster care (they were 4 and 3 months when we got them), and had three biological children around the same ages at that time. They are ALL 100% ours. Always have been. We cut off all communication with bio family because they were not safe, or healthy for them. However, we always told them we would help them get in contact if/when they were ready…sometime after they turned 18 and could draw their own healthy boundaries. We then had another biological child 9 years ago. Then, in July of 2021, we adopted a young man who was about 3 months shy of turning 18. He was in foster care for about 11 of his 17 years. He got to choose whether he wanted to be adopted by us, or not, but he knew from day 1 that we would absolutely adopt him if he chose that when the time came. He is also 100% ours, and always will be. He missed out on a normal childhood and unconditional love, and constantly lived in fear of messing up and being moved. We missed out on raising him. But, we are all SO excited to make up for lost time, and he sleeps well at night knowing he is finally home. For good. So, we adopted all three of the foster children we brought into our home. Please consider fostering, and/or adopting. It is a whole ordeal to get licensed, and at least monthly check-ins. Sometimes weekly visits with bio parents/family. But…it’s amazing to see how much your heart expands.

This baby was suppose to be with them! I can tell her care is very important to you guys, thanks for saving a baby with love!
My mother was adopted. My grandmother always told her that my mother was born from her mother’s and father’s hearts, and therefore, was as much their daughter as any other child would have been. My grandparents adopted 4 kids-no bios. 💕
I know I’ve said this before, but it’s worth saying a hundred more times~ she is blessed to have you both, BUT you guys are equally as blessed to have her ♥️
I am in absolute awe of you two! I've only recently discovered you and subbed to both channels- been binge watching to catch up-I love the content of both channels.Tyana is very blessed to have you as her parents, and I'm so happy we get to watch her grow up.I wish the three of you all the best life has to offer.
Rhianna & Jon, one of your vlogs came up on my page last week and since then I have been binge watching. Let me preface by saying I am a 56 year old woman from the Caribbean, who is a bit hardened and cynical, but my goodness I am totally in awe of you both. Your energy, your commitment, your deep capacity to love and your fierceness just swells my heart and makes me teary eyed. When I grow up I want to be just like you Rhianna (LOL), you are just so special in this lady's eyes! Tyanna is beautiful and any child (bio or adopted) is so lucky to have you as parents. God Bless you both!

I just wanted to thank you both for touching on the "biological" child topic. Myself and my husband are child free by choice and will remain so BUT we plan to foster special needs children in the future. People seem to think Im VERY strange and make comments that I should either foster after I have my "own" or that once I have my "own" Ill quit fostering. I really thought I was kind of alone in that. Thank you for being so open. Im so happy your little family found each other.

9:37 I totally understad your comparison to adopting dogs. As a pre-school teacher I have to say goodbye to the kids who's starting in school every year, and it hurts every time. Just because a child (or animal) is not your own, all the lessons you teach them along the way creates a strong bond that's really difficult to break. But the best thing is when you hear how well they're doing and that they still remember you.
Wow..you guys are so inspiring..I'm a newbie on your channel and my heart was melting the first time I saw your adoption video...GOD CHOSE YOU FOR TYIANS....WHAT A STORY.... That's mind blowing God is really great...

Found you on Tiktok I absolutely love the love you both have for Tyanna and allowing her to be able to meet her biological cousins
Thank you for this very informative video. I have been thinking about fostering but I am not as well off as yourselves or even some others in just my neighborhood. Your video gave me the will now to actually call and get the information to get started on the journey. My main drawback was my fear of not being able to afford it. I had no idea that if I worked with the state CPS that alot of costs were covered by them. Most videos I have watched the people spoke alot about the costs involved for them so I assumed that referred to all fostering. Thank you so very much for this information. You are a wealth of info on both of your channels the two of you together are an amazing team. I know your daughter could never be more loved than by the two of you. God Bless you three and best wishes in your many years to come.

UK: You are truly awesome parents. You have also encouraged the bravely and empathetic traits that your daughter displays. I too would be fiercely protective over my child - and my knee jerk reaction would be not to have an open adoption. I've just subscribed.
A very good video, thank you for sharing your experience. A very thorough video, it’s hard to put the foster experience in a short video but you did. Anyone watching will hopefully do the research in their own state to foster a child. My husband and I fostered our son, and it was a long three + years but wouldn’t change a thing.
Congratulations on your beautiful Tyanna!!

What is a respite foster parent?
@dianesembly9606

A respite Foster parent goes through all of the training that a regular foster parent goes through but only keeps children when the foster parent goes out of the state and cannot take the child. It may be for a weekend or a week depending on the situation. It's temporary.
I ran across your Tennessee video because i am planning on traveling there. However, I realized you adopted and I always desired to adopt a child. This is great info. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jon and Rihanna, I always wondered about who named Tyana. And now as you have told us about Tyana's name, I can only think about God's grace as Rihanna becomes the mother of Tiyana 🙏. So sweet.😍 In Indian society we tend to name our children rhyming with the name of either of the parent or sometime rhyming with the name of grandfather or grandmother.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us watching from Africa Uganda God bless you
You're totally two beautiful people ❤️🙏❤️🙏 and I love your Heart and Soul

So good, this will be a great resource for other foster to adopt parents. I will say this, IF Tianna's biological parents have a sibling that comes into care, please do take it. We did, and it was the best thing we ever did.
