I say it was a Miracle that this song was Recorded because Alessia lives in Canada and The Warning in Mexico and they couldn't get together in person because of Covid and Metallica only gave them one week to record the song and get it to them.

I really liked Metallica's original when it came out, but I heard it for so long and heard dozens of covers that were really good but I was burnt out on it.. but this is a totally new and fresh sound, breathing new life in to a classic metal song. This is the best re-construction of Enter Sandman I've ever heard. Its great all these ladies collaborated to give this awesome song to a new generation and a wider audience. Splendid use of vocals and harmonies in a metal sound. Thank you Michal for your insights and great review.

Thanks for your great reaction. Metallica wanted the covers on their Blacklist album to incorporate different styles and genres. Record label management for Alessia and The Warning combined them together for the song. The Warning sisters put together the new arrangement along with producer Matt Squire, who came down to Mexico for a week to record the song. Matt brought in Alessia's part on his computer from Canada. The Warning's management team produced the video.

I truly believe that this cover, if it can be called that, is something special. It manages to reinvent the original while still paying homage to it. I honestly think only The Warning along with Alessia Cara could have achieved this epic version of Enter Sandman. Given that the original is now over 30 years old, I am amazed that probably for the next 30 years a version of Enter Sandman will remain on my playlist. I cant imagine ever getting tired of this version.

One video I saw from Dani (Dani Day video). A fan asked via written question what instruments Dani can play. She said four. A little sax (4), piano (3), guitar (2), singing (1). She flat out said "singing cause I can sing". This video she did on her "weekly (semi) Dani Day" vlog was after they recorded TW #3 & before they released the single choke. This version of *Enter Sandman* is in my top ten favourite Warning songs.

@@robertkrawitz8237 - your right & wrong. Right: she uses her voice as a fourth musician in a trio band. Your wrong that Dani uses her guitar as a voice. Guitarists like David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) & the late Gary Moore plays their guitars to speak when no lyrics was needed. The song *Show Me the Light* from XXI Century Blood album came close during her solo. But The Warning doesn't write songs for the guitar to speak since overwhelmingly their songs start from a piano riff. *So far.* Since they are still evolving. As artists (musicians & writers).

I didn't notice it either. To me, her diction simply sounded cleaner and more pure than that of a lot of native English speakers. I do notice that when Pau is speaking in English and mentioning place names in Latin America that she uses often the Spanish pronunciation (Colombia and Argentina are two I've picked up on) where Dany usually uses the English pronunciation. About the only other way it's apparent that they're not native English speakers when they're speaking in English is that they'll occasionally get a word wrong. But none of them have what I'd characterize as a strong accent when speaking English.

Interesting discussion of the contrasting vocal styles, and specifically their different use of ornamentation. The vocal and rhythmic contrast between the two verses is something I've noticed but hadn't entirely put my finger as far as the vocals, so that helped clear matters up. The differences in rhythmic pattern between the two verses is something very noticeable; the first verse has a very syncopated rhythm that's almost (?) a dotted pattern, whereas the second verse is a much more straight 4/4 with the accents on the first and third beats. Dany is developing into a full fledged top end rock singer. She doesn't normally go for the distortion that so many metal singers use (then again, Bruce Dickinson sings clean a lot), but she certainly has the power, projection, and conviction for this type of singing.

They found out that Metallica well James meant this as a lullaby originally so that is the approach they took the song in, and that Metallica could have if they werent a heavy metal band at that time. Finally, at last! I am not the only one who has noticed the Spanish flavor they have, but i have the same opinion that it adds something special to their singing. They have this Latin tone when they sing. They are fantastic when it comes to knowing English and their ability to use the language in different ways, and their small touch of Latin give some songs that little extra you can´t copy. TW is a unique band when it comes to charisma and dedication, their stage precense is huge. They have been active as a professional band for 10 years now so they stand taller than most "new" bands during their performances. They are seasoned professionals and have the tools to conquer the world and lead young people who want to make it as musicians. They also have integrity and are showing young girls they don´t have to be sexy to make it. Actually during all the years I have followed them I have been amazed, not because they were girls and now women, but because they are great musicians. They earn respect because they make great music, not because they are women. A great reaction and analysis of my favorite band, thank you.

This helps illustrate that The Warning are not just a rock band. They are masterful composers and writers as well. To completely deconstruct an iconic song, then build it back while incorporating a pop singer, shows their mastery of concepts. Add in the subtleties and nuances that were in this song, and I believe this is a masterpiece. For instance, The Warning decided to start their version of the song where Metallica’s version left off, and bring it full circle by ending where Metallica’s version begins. It is a symbiotic circle of musical life. Very cool concept.

The version they do live is better. Their two show, sold-out, August, 2022, concert at Teatro Metropolitan, Mexico City, was professionally recorded and filmed. It has absolutely headphone-worthy, high quality audio and video work on it. Here is that FANTASTIC concert video of 22 songs: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aZyWpMNqXZTWZ7A.htmlsi=WXsGgxEGJXYfsPgA Drummer Paulina ("Pau" pronounced "POW”), whacked the proverbial crap out of her kit, for nearly two hours, non-stop at that concert, breaking several sticks. . But she also sang some gorgeous ballads…

Aloha from Hawaii Miki!! I would like you to explore the band Larkin Poe, another sister fronted band like The Warning. They have been recording and performing for most of their young lives. American roots/blues rock genre, very different from The Warning. But their dedication to their craft and music is no LESS than our sisters from Monterrey! Please check them out. I think you are one the best Reactionists online. Mahalo!

Miki, have you heard of the k-pop group Dreamcatcher? They have beautiful voices and their music is in a rock-metal style.

Enjoyable reaction video with the added dimension of the sweet pop vocals of Alessia Cara and the reimagining of this song. Are you aware of Diana Ankudinova, the young Russian phenomenon and how she completely reimagines classics and makes them her own? This is a recent cover. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWRqtJqieZPKl5M.html

Sorry it does not have the same intensity or the same feeling of darkness in it it should because that's what the songs about they're good musicians they got a decent voice sorry on the scale the 1 to 10 I'd give it a five put them side by side I'd always go with the metallic version but then again I usually like the original songs not the remix they never seem the same
