Nothing beats a freshly made welsh cake, the outside is crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy, you could also try warming your welsh cakes up in the microwave for a few seconds and spread some butter over it :) it is a shame you can't taste a lot of Welsh foods including lava bread, cawl and bara bryth!

hi there, a Welshman here, just a bit of info for you, the wagon wheel is made here in my home town Cwmbran which stands for Crow-Valley in english, they come in original flavour such as the one you tried in this video and another version which has a raspberry jam centre. Wales is famous for its lamb and mutton as the sheep used for the production of Welsh lam is allowed to run freely around the mountains and graze on the un-tampered grass, infact up until the late 70's sheep were made to roam around grave yards to chew the grass meaning churches didn't have to spend out on labour to get someone in to cut the grass. The fudge is a good one, it was traditionally made here by coal miners wives as a treat on a sunday when it used to be illegal to work sundays, though cornwall is in england, the majority of the cornish have roots in wales, cornwal has a language of its own "cornish" and is very very similar to welsh, the difference is that some of the words contain letters from the english alphabet that don't appear in the welsh alphabet, after the emigration of the welsh during the reign of Henry the 7th (during this time, england as you know it didn't exist, what you know as london was england where as the rest of england up as far as scotland was wales) this changed during the war of the roses. The eclaires are actually toffee :D

Tesco is found in Wales and England -- so it isn't just Welsh food. However -- they have Welsh flavours. Lamb, Welsh cakes. If there's one thing Wales is known for, it's its lamb, cheese, herbs and fudge. It might be 'Cornish fudge', but Welsh fudge is popular and you find it in EVERY tourist gift shop in Wales -- and it's good, real good.

Wagon Wheels look like Moon Pies! The way this young women describes them sound like them too. That's what we in the American South call em. There are chocolate and Banana flavored ones. They used to go well with RC Cola, another southern thing:) Shortbread rocks too! We have Lorna Dunes... But I like the real short bread(Walkers) from the British store in Largo, Florida though:) Those are imported from Scotland and the most incredible cookie ever.

In addition to sunburn, we got Wagon Wheels, Jaffa cakes, Spotted Dick, Kinder Hippo, and shortbread. No haggis or Mars bars this year, boo. We also got Kinnerton Guinness Luxury Dark Chocolate Truffles. I can't say how they were, hubby was sad that he ate them all. He said they were so yummy he couldn't help it, could I get more? LOL, amazon uk does have them! I'm also going to look for those lamb crisps and oddities, they look yummy! Thanks for broadening my food horizons. I'm enjoying your videos immensely!

Emmy, toffee and caramel are not quite the same. In making them two types of sugar crystals are created by the way they are both made. Toffee produces short-grain crystals which let the product to break easily, usually. Caramel produces long-grain crystals thus allowing it to bend. Some preparers use brown sugar for toffee and brown sugar for caramel. The difference is that brown sugar is white sugar mixed with molasses. However, there is no set rule for which to use and when. For your information, Penguins were first introduced in 1932 whereas Tim Tams, named after a horse, were first sold in 1964. 'nuf sed. plamuk aka travellingchef

They definitely sell Wagon Wheels in the states. Moon Pies are more popular but I've seen Wagon Wheels on trips through Georgia/South and North Carolina.
