Bro this is straight facts all these cars coming through are constantly fire and these are some of my favorite live performances post 1999 ever.
Erik played angry. That's life, and it's so good this way.
There is a certain truth in this music, which is why it will attract new generations who will ensure it´s survival. Swing, the blues, complete mastery of melodic, harmonic, rhythmic vocabulary and obviously the virtuosity to pull it off. Eric Joe and Vincent are keepers of the flame and the elders.

Eric Alexander's solo, wow!! I love the lick he plays at 1:33.
Holy shit Eric is a beast
50th time listening to vincent erick solos
The understated elegance of JOE FARNSWORTH is really growing on me, really diggin this cat and those suits, yeah man! the man is straight up COOKING on this, and Eric Alexander too...find my vids of ERic Alexander at San Jose jazz festival for a real treat !
This is a masterclass in high tempo swing.
Wow!! what a brilliant blow. Tempo is amazing. You`re all great but hats off to Russell Hall playing for 12 minutes at 300bpm - Incredible.
Eric and vince are just an incredible discover here..thanks to all of you guys
Vincent Herring bringing it with his custom Yamaha 82z ❤
Wow, one of your crew plays just like Cleveland Eaton, now that's damn good. Everyone is awesome, to say the least, Emmet Cohen, you are the best, love you all.
Blazing, steamin, smokin, grilled and fried! These guys cooked it!
Absolutely phenomenal! 🙏😁🎷
WOW...!!!!!!
Smokin'!
Superb!!!!!!
Absolutely incredible
Wow, it's awesome. Thanks 👍
Great composition! Great solos!
Blazing!!!
Just discovered drummer Farnsworth on Emmets Monday nights and his ability to stay relaxed at such a high pace for so long is impressive to a drummer like myself and his solos are simple yet creative ....Ive seen he plays SMALLS jazz club in NYC a lot , really need to see him live now. Does he come to West Coast like Monterey Jazz fest and does he teach drums in New York City area? anyone know? I found out he played on many Eric Alexander albums and maybe went to music college with him...he is a real jewel of the NYC jazz scene.
10 out of 10! Bloody marvellous
The best band in a box...
Wow! What can you say this is fire.
Incredible as always
Great band
God damn, Vincent Herring is tearing it up. He and Eric sound so good together - are they on any records together?

a few they play together a lot fantistic along with jeremy pelt
The Emmet solo is just GREAT !
It's interesting that Emmit taps his foot on the quarter notes, I saw a video with Hal Galper where he talks about how to sound very loose on fast tempos,he said to tap your foot on 1 and 3, because it turns your quarter notes into 8th notes like you're playing double time on a Ballad, but Emmit seems to be doing pretty well with his way 😁
Love all of this and Russell Hall is such a positive driving force.
Bro Vincent Herring just popped off, what a solo!
Russell Hall : Very good Job👏👏👏

Gold award.😁
Absolute 🔥! I'm breathless.
back again, like this live version more than recorded one it has fire urgency , erick is a heavy weight champ herring is standing up very stoic but wait until he open fire wow that articulation on erick and vincent is a life time of playing emitt playing opposite patterns left right hands touches of mccoy tyner herring is using entire range of horn upper range very clear i recognize some of oliver nelson patterns which i always like to hear hall on bass wow love joe;s suit and of course he's shark dont get cut
Reminded me a bit of Woody Shaw's classic 'Rhasaan's Run' from his 1977 classic 'Rosewood'. Here they got faster tempo, but harmonic rhythm slower, meaning this is 24 bar form as opposed to 12, which in fact I prefer because i feel that one can appreciate each chord changes better. Killer group and burnin performance.
Wow
Thanks from Brazil!
Cookin music while I’m cookin breakfast! Hot music with. Cold Brewed Coffee…Outstanding!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thought it was gonna be Django's "Minor blues". Not disappointed a bit though, this was fire.
Eric Alexander and Vincent Herring consummate saxophonists. The whole group rocks!
Don’t want to forget joe and russel, who are perfect…
Each of the men is a column of air. Towering fiantaz
Did the sound quality just get an upgrade? It sounds very crisp IMO. (or maybe it's just the supreme sax tone)

They have an overhead mic now, which catches the high ends of that ride better. They also clip-on mic'ed the saxes this time, which gives a more aggressive and in-your-face sound than the 1-2ft mic they've been running previously that caught more of the room
@patrickguyum

IMO the overheads sound a bit hot making that ride sound really bright (or maybe the cymbal itself is just ridonk bright), and I kind of liked the room sound vibe they had going way more. Far more in line with the usual aesthetic approach for this kind of music. Whether it's a choice or they're adjusting things idk, but it's up to them at the end of the day no matter what.
I feel like a deer in headlights listening to this wow

Yeah... 335bpm, and he just kept those quarter notes going for close to 10 minutes... superhero stuff!! 😯
like this version better than the recorded one more up tempo multi phonics on fire well done everbody , hey put this version on a release , what about a big ban arrangement
Beautiful playing all around. You may, however, want to invest less than $5 - $10 and get some cymbal felts and sleeves for those cymbal stands, lest those expensive cymbals will be ruined with keyholes or cracks.
How are there still no cymbal sleeves on those stands lolol
joe dressed tp the 9s
blow big v blow nucler fusion
vincent has to get another new horn , he melted the hand made one
like to see erick battle bob mintzer chris potter brandford marceils seamus blake ravi coltrane yeah emmet throwing some mcoy out

Eric seemed like he was most in the groove on this tune. Compared to his playing on the other tracks which was burnin' but it seemed awkward. Or maybe it seems like there is an inside joke between the drummer and bassist all the time lol.

As Nick Brignola used to say, “Jazz is not for the masses.” Like classical music, it requires an educated audience in the art form to fully appreciate what is happening melodically, harmonically, rhythmically, and historically.
Too many notes.
