Vincent Herring's solo is class!
Impressive both . For me Alexander Is One of the best living sax players. He never divert the attention, complete control , huge knoledge, Always improoving !
These dudes have played so much together that they know exactly how to play off each other. Sometimes you hear them borrow licks from each other; it's like our generation's version of Coltrane and Cannonball
I love how everybody is so responsive during the solos and clearly enjoying each other's talents. Thank you for this 🙏❤
Blow Vincent Blow. That's the way you share the stage. Straight and to the point. Nice
@Emmet Cohen I can hear Dexter saying “Just what we need - another tenor player! Ha-ha-ha-ha” - which kinda works here ‘cause Vincent has so much meat on his tone! Such great blowing from everyone involved, I especially dug the thing going on between Emmet and Joe at about 11:40 . Also have to comment on the stage vibe again - it is very cool seeing the players watching each other and so obviously enjoying the experience!
I dig this drummer
Bloody wonderful!
You guys are amazing. Emment Cohen's Place is the best thing to come out of this pandemic. 14:30 dear god, just mind-blowingly good.
Eric Alexander certainly tears it up, big time! :-D
On fire!!!

I’m totally with that guy in the back right at the beginning of Vincent’s solo. I would be getting into it too. Lmao
This is like a blues masterclass

Muy buena esta nueva generacion de Jazz Man - Jazzistas-
Nice video!
I remember Vincent Herring sitting in with Bishop Norman Williams at Bajones club in The early 80’s. He was great then too!

Le sourire de Russel😊

Heavyweights!! This should be a double vinyl audiophile release with the same title. Bluenote where are you!!?
7:10 buzzy !!
YOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
The trading is insane
yeeeeeee
This is worth coming back to. After hearing Eric discuss his 21 major key explorations I'm suddenly hearing lots of Hank Mobley in his improvisation. Fantastic.

Love the pimp hat
👍👍👍 😊 ✨
Eric Alexander starts off sounding like you combined Sonny Stitt and Gene Ammons from one of those live records.

Why is this video in 720p 😭
8:13 What's the tune Vincent Herring quoted there, if it was ever a quote? There's a tune with this exact motif being repeated with varations and it has been stuck in my head for a while and I can't put a name on it

Listening to this feels like I've been transported back to 2006. I'm imagining getting out of a showing of The Departed and driving through Cedar Grove NJ blasting some Eric Alexander & Vincent Herring on the way home. 2006 Emmet would never be caught wearing those thicc pinstripe pants tho -- yikes.
Crème de la crème of United States's stuff..
What make of tenor is Eric playing?

Drummer just came from a bar mitzvah, and the bassist from a funkadelic tribute....
thats 5 extra minutes of tenor solo than we all needed

Definitely seems like he was exploring. More of a jam session mentality I guess. I really like this format though. You get a great variety of soloists. My favorite so far has been Christian McBride. The interaction between him and Emmet is just insane...total mind meld

@@TWO20 back in 1994-95 he was my favorite young tenor. He became a George Coleman disciple and kind of lost himself. I think he plays too much now. Not as bad as James Carter but same effect. I have met him a few times. Very nice guy. I can’t buy his records anyone. I didn’t mind his record on GiantstepsArt. You may like it. Good label.

@@jtbsax Vincent has always been a soulful player. I remember buying his first two albums. I believe he was a street musician. I hope he stays healthy.

dees mofos wint dare babe
Damn they got curly on the drums
Monsters Inc. again.
Great playing all around, but too much Eric Alexander. He's got a great sound. His playing is harmonically interesting, but doesn't leave much space or interact with the rhythm section much. He might as well be playing with a backing track. The difference is crystal clear once Vincent Herring starts playing. It starts sounding like a band. He knows when he peaks and when to stop playing.
The bass player should have a microphone

Erick is full of himself but dam he's a bad man ill taken a dozen yea Vincent has his name etched in gold inlay dam so if u look at the other players they know they got 2 tigers by the tail their faces tell the story
TEMPO DRAGGING SLOWED DOWN C'MON MAN
Tenor player playing 10 minutes too long. Talking too much and not saying anything personal. Not for me.
Eric Alexander seems very uncomfortable.
