I knew it didn't sound good for him the moment the judge began his speech, he was clearly hell-bent on making an example of him despite his immaculate record. At least he can take comfort from the fact his daughter and granddaughter will be looked out for by most of the village.

This happened in my town! Guy was apparently really nice and never been violent in his life. He punched someone who was in his face who was harassing him at the bar and he dropped dead instantly and he got sent down for years.

I never thought that Amelia's stalker storyline would have resulted in her father going to jail for 8 years. It kinda puts home when you're rightfully angry and amped up at someone that one punch could kill someone.

8 Years is harsh and of the day he was only doing what any parent would of done and that is protecting their children or kids

If he did that in another country, such as Canada, he would have got no more than a 4 year sentence and no less than probation for Manslaughter or Criminal Negligence Causing Death.

Love how these shows try to express the right way to do things Yet when someone hands themselves into police, fully cooperates and pleads guilty, they get a ridiculous sentence To me that’s encouraging people not to admit wrongdoings, it shows they receive punishment rather than acclaim

@@mr.thegreat557 So does the British Justice System and its soap operas for mocking victims of these heinous crimes and not perpetrators. That episode sets a terrible example for how the British Justice System treats its victims. I think the writers should be forced to watch "Life With Billy", a true story about a Canadian woman, the late Jane Hurshman, who suffered grievous physical abuse in the hands of her husband, Billy Stafford, kills him in self-defence, found "not guilty" of murder, but then the Crown appeals and she's forced to accept a "guilty" plea to manslaughter as well as a six month jail sentence. The directors should rot in hell for victimizing sex abuse victims more.

​@@dannynix2732 he got 14 years for Lee Posner's murder but Dan didn't have a criminal record but Robert did. Anyways Robert got life in prison and the judge fixed the term to 14 years. So if anything it was kind of right to get 8 years for Dan murdering Lloyd but I do think he did deserve 3 or 4 years like Jimmy said.

That's about the right sentence as someone I knew got 8 years for something similar only served 4 so will Dan.

I did really like Amelia at one point, she was just about the last decent kid left in the village with good morals but then they had to make her into Teen Pregnancy Story #1001 … Also everyone in the village was a moron: I absolutely love how NO ONE pointed out that when Dan decked her stalker he was inside the village! Why would the accused go to their alleged victim’s home? 😒😒😒

Oh yeah. Julie. Ugh. 🙄 And those two probably was creepy Lloyd's parents. I was thinging for a minute why Cain isn't there but then I remembered that he's in Scotland. Dan really likes to surprise his solicitor but his speech was good and straight from the heart. Was that judge stupid or something? Dan went in shock and that's why he didn't help creepy Lloyd. And limited remorse? Sure Jan. 🙄 Fuck that judge. Dan didn't plan it. I just hope that some day, some way the truth about Lloyd stalking and harassign Amelia will come to light. Also, they should've told the police about Julie harassing a kid.

While unfortunate, Dan really did himself no favours, and it could have been worse, since it's "only manslaughter". It could also have been a Robert's 14 years minimum, murder charge...

Despite most charities are on board with storylines the registered UK charity OnePunchUK criticised the outcome of storyline, obviously it could or may be taken further... but with Liam Fox already departed and with producer Jane Hudson (thankfully) to stand down... overall, this was a somewhat rushed outing...

To my knowledge it's only temporary whilst the actor takes part in a pantomime, I reckon he'll be back at some point in future, even if it is behind a prison visiting table.
