    When my brother was 12, he was harshly bullied by his friends for crying. He was called 'sissy' and humiliated in front of everyone. This had happened to him several times. He came home that day and decided to take his life. When we came home, he was lying in a pool of blood and we rushed him to the hospital and saved his life. That day I decided that gender inequality is real and feminism is not just about women. Gender inequality is a reality for both sexes and I firmly advocate feminism.

    Luke Bullitt wow excellent translation, sometimes it's a marvel how brilliant humans are capable of being. It's the whole stereotype of being a "manly-man"; men and boys shouldn't have to feel as though it's wrong (or some other word I can't think of) to cry or, as flowery as it sounds, be in touch with their feelings. Same can go with females - it shouldn't feel wrong or inappropriate or whatever to do "fill in the blank for whatever typical 'girly' thing there is to do". God this is such a long winding paragraph, but the main thing is that these stereotypes (again, another word for it could be societal standard - a big, fancy word for ya) and all stereotypes as a whole (whether it be about race, religion, etc.) will be here for a long time. It'll take years to change a person's perception of another person and for it to not be of that stereotype. Not even sure that makes sense honestly, but I'll post this anyway I guess. Have a fantascular day, I suppose

    +红月亮 Joining an army is not a bad thing. I've honestly had experience with this. In most countries women aren't allowed to join the army because society thinks they're not "strong enough" That's lack of inequality right there. And I'm not saying forcing men to serve in the army promotes feminism or equality, that's just lack of freedom it doesn't make it okay for you to say we don't need feminism. Many anti-feminists don't have any experience with sexism so they don't understand. Growing up I wasn't allowed to do most things because of my gender, my dad would always say "you're like a boy!" like it was a compliment or something, everyone around me always made me feel like being female was a bad thing and not just me people around me have experienced inequality because of their gender. I just don't understand how people still hate feminism.

Example:At some point in history only few women had perfume(they were advantaged). They are not in a race because of men,but because of other women.Men often don't care if a women has makeup,perfume,etc.. i've only seen women critiquing those who had or hadn't.

    I love Emma´s speech so much because she goes on to explain what feminism is so well. The fact that men and woman should deserve equal rights its the base of feminism instead of the popular belief that by being a feminist you are proclaiming ultimate hate to the opposite sex. Emma explains how she has been sexualized by the media since she was very young and how she was called bossy as a child for expressing her thoughts out loud. She speaks for all women while saying that she thinks it is right that we should be able to make decisions for our own bodies. I have respect for Emma and every single woman out in the streets fighting for a world where we don't have to be afraid to go out on the streets wearing short shorts or crop tops because men will think "we are looking for it". Emma is such an inspiration to youth women and we should all look up to strong women like her.

    Reality dictates the true meaning of a word, not its advocates. In reality, feminism is not equality. Modern day feminists have amply demonstrated this by their actions. Attempting to silence men (by such childish "pranks" as pulling a fire alarm to stop someone from speaking at a scheduled event), open contempt for the male gender in general, and much more. These are the actions of feminists today. And it speaks loudly of what feminists believe.

    I hadn't put too much thought into gender equality lately, but this video made me want to speak up. And when I did, I got a lot of horrible, sexist comments from some men (boys, really). It just proved to me not only that gender inequality really does still exist, it also showed me that it's deeply ingrained in people's brains that men are superior to women. That got me so heated and it got me feeling so defensive and so passionate about women's rights. I really hope some light can be shed on this topic and I thank Emma for being brave enough to begin doing so.

    Well, i'm going to explain you why has become so hated with the example of my country: Spain. Here feminists have created a fascist law called "The Gender Violence Law", which literally punishes more harshly a man that hits her girlfriend/wife than a woman who hits her boyfriend/husband. Even if the woman started the aggression and the man is defending himself. That's a criminal law based on the perpetrator instead of the act, and is typical of fascists states, like Hitler's, Mussolini's or Franco's. And that's not all: They have created an old age pension law which privileges women, they are against shared custody (and they are eliminating it), they have opposed to creating a phone number which would have helped men and lesbians victims of domestic abuse (the current number just protects straight women), they are against paper aborrion, etc. There's nothing wrong with defendig women rights, but many feminists attack those who defend men's rights (like Warren Farrell, whose talks have been boycotted by feminists).

Who are you anyway, to play the judge and jury, as you seek to superimpose your absurd worldview and deluded mythical claims, based on so-called "research", upon everyone who don't agree with the lies, hypocrisy and nonsense of feminism and feminists? Understandably, you are another one of the typical airheaded and allergic to common sense "I-know-all" narcissist feminist, preaching her pearls of wisdom, that neither make sense nor hold any merit, but still everyone must accept them without any questions asked, for sake of political correctness. Is that why all feminists despite their claims of being "intellectually superior & genius brains" with so-called "pathbreaking research", to back their mythical claims which they try so hard to pass around as so-called "research based facts", such sore lonely losers incapable of making an honest living & thus finding honor living off welfare or inheritance like parasites, while ultimately ending up in lunatic asylums and the streets? Understanding of the feminist psyche of crutch mentality, and lies of feminism which are all absurd claims without substance and bereft of common sense, doesn't require any "research" or "study", just the application of simple common sense is all it takes to dismantle every single one of the lies and every absurd claim of feminism and feminists ... In simple words, all feminism and feminists can do, is only whine over anything and everything, manipulate truth, distort facts under the guise of "research" because feminists and feminism are allergic to common sense and everything else that doesn't confirm with their idea of matriarchy and gynocentrism, which keeps them in business. The absurd interpretations and claims of feminism and feminists, made on basis of fake studies and their perceived fantasies, can only amuse losers who have zero capacity to make an honest living while lacking the caliber to take ownership of their actions, together with their inborn ineptitude to take responsibilities. Therefore when feminism and feminists claim anything as wrong, basis their so-called "research", the truth, facts and reality are always to the contrary.

    @Fiji Water human rights? It's as if men's rights are inhuman. How is giving right for women to do what men do human? It's not that men are better than women because they do certain things like have a job or wear pants, the thing is that men and women are different. They have different roles and one excels more in one than the other. For thousands of years it has always been that way and it's not until now where these roles are under attack because today the world is only getting worse and one of the these reasons is the social engineering to attack traditional roles.

  • @infamouscrusader3363

    @infamouscrusader3363

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Fiji Water Again, it's about different roles. Men are just better at working and going overtime which explains the supposed "wage gap". It's not oppression, it's just that men get into in demand fields and work much more. Also, women are better homemakers and tend to have a better time working with children. Whether people like it or not, men and women have differences and guess what, there is nothing wrong with that because that is how it is intended and both need each other to get by. To degrade traditional roles of women and men is to downplay there roles which is why I do not agree with feminism, women liberation, gender equality or whatever it is people like to call it today. To say women have more meaning by doing what men is basically saying for them to have any purpose or value they must be like a man does. As a result, marriages are falling apart, MGTOW has spawned (you want to talk about women hating there it is and I am against it), the family structure being separated, and so much more which is no good.

  • @infamouscrusader3363

    @infamouscrusader3363

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Fiji Water How does society perceive men to be better workers despite of data showing that it is true? There is literally no stigma about men at work and women at home. Again, it's all a social conditioning for society to abandoned those roles which men and women have done for literally thousands of years without complaining and that is why civilizations have done well so what evidence do you need. Women getting assaulted and raped in places like the military and the office because they are clearly with women and tend to wear revealing clothing. It's no surprise that when most women started working outside of the home, infidelity rates within marriage has increased, cases of assault and tape have occured along with many youths losing their virginity. That also explains why there is so much abortion (and yes I believe it is wrong. It is has been proven that most abortion cases are done because it was out of inconvenience. In other words, men and women are irresponsible and ended up with a child they did not intend having). You want to know why the things you mentioned are happening, it's not because of traditional family roles, it's because we left those roles that we have been conditioned to stray from and therefore bring to us a falsity of choice between the genders.

    The one thing I don’t understand is when people say that just because a person is an actor they can’t talk about their opinions or say how they feel. Like, they are people too with complex emotions and opinions just like yours. Emma is a highly educated woman and she’s worked hard to get where she is. She isn’t afraid to make fun of herself and she acknowledges that yeah, people aren’t might not listen to her because she’s just an actress. But that’s honestly not fair. People always ask what celebrities think then bash on them for having an opinion, or taking a stand for something that is affecting them. If I were a celebrity, whether an actress, or an author, or an athlete, and I had a substantially large group of followers, I would use my influence to create a positive change in the world. I would speak up. And that’s what Emma Watson is doing. So all of the people trying to belittle her message because she “portrayed Hermione Granger, she’s a famous actress,” fuck off.

    It goes without saying that these are “First World problems.” In far too many countries around the world, women still lack basic rights and patriarchy remains very real (though it is worth noting that even in those places, men and boys often have to deal with gender-specific hardships, from forced recruitment into war to mass violence that singles out males). But in the industrial democracies of North America and Europe, the revolution in women’s rights over the past century has been a stunning success - and, while there is still work to be done, it must include the other side of that revolution. Not “he for she,” but “She and he for us.” Cathy Young is a contributing editor at Reason magazine. the assertion that violence by men toward their female partners should be singled out because it’s a bigger problem than female violence toward family members. Meanwhile, in Watson’s native England, activists from women’s organizations recently blamed the shortage of services for abused women on efforts to accommodate abused men (despite the fact that, as Guardian columnist and blogger Ally Fogg demonstrated, even the lowest estimates of the prevalence of domestic violence against men suggest that male victims are far less likely than women to get help)." The Guardian. people are waking up "Until feminism recognizes discrimination against men, the movement for gender equality will be incomplete." “Gender equality is your issue too.” That was the message to men from Emma Watson, Harry Potter star and now United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador, in her widely hailed U.N. speech earlier this week announcing a new feminist campaign with a “formal invitation” to male allies to join. Noting that men suffer from sexism in their own ways, Watson asked, “How can we affect change in the world when only half of it is invited or feel welcome to participate in the conversation?” Truer words were never spoken. Too bad they are belied by the campaign itself, which is called “HeForShe” and asks men to pledge to “take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls” but says nothing about problems affecting men and boys. time.com/3432838/emma-watson-feminism-men-women/ FEMINISM IS HATE, IS SEXISM. IT HAS TO GO. EMMA HAS PROVED THAT WITH HER INSANELY SEXIST AND DISGUSTING SPEECH.

    Briana 7, because most feminists believe in things like male privilege, a wage gap and patriarchy, which have all been debunked by people who have any common sense. (Emma even argues that the wage gap is a real thing in an interview, which just makes her seem misinformed). In my opinion someone who cares about equal rights, is just a normal decent human being. Calling yourself feminist does nothing, except associate yourself with all those crazy people that do the same, especially since being a feminist can mean a dozen different things depending on who you ask. The dictionary is no help, because what that says, and what feminists actually fight for, and have done in the modern age, are two very different things.

    This is what real feminism looks like, an advocacy for everyone regardless of their identity. Emma Watson inspired me since I was also called a “bossy” girl because I was able to excel in fields they did not expect me to. And I think it is time that we start recognizing that the inequality between sexes still exist and the patriarchy is not only affecting women but people in general. Men’s masculinity is defined by their emotional suppression, women are still denied their autonomous rights, folks that do not fit in these boxes are not considered as human beings and are still struggling to receive the same rights and privileges. The youth should look up to someone like Emma who, not only cares for others, but also stands up for them. Some may call you a “Feminazi”, distorting what you are fighting for but this should not stop you from becoming the person that you wished to be there when you are treated as a second citizen in your country just because you are a woman. You are capable, just like everyone else, to bring change. Always choose to speak yourself even your voice shakes.

I am 15 years old. I am a feminist. I do not hate men. I want to live in a world where I am not considered a "bitch" for having an opinion. A world where I do not get cat called by 40 year-old men. A world where my voice is not drowned out by the millions of men in the world telling me how to think, act, and look. Wouldn't you want the same for your sister, your mother and your daughters? Why is it so difficult for men to understand that the world does not revolve around them. I do not dress for men. I am not a feminist because I hate men. I just want to be treated as tho I am equal rather than inferior.

    Giuseppe Peano, did you even watch the video? Feminism is hated because of self-identified feminists that aim to make women higher than men. That’s not feminism. Feminism is the idea of achieving equal rights for woman and men. This doesn’t mean that men’s privileges will go down, it just means woman’s will go up until they are equal.

    +CZ "Something that has been proven time and time again" So I'm guessing: Men being drafted into war was part of their privilege. Men dying in the work place is part of their privilege. Men being told that there is something inherently wrong with them is part of their privilege ("Toxic Masculinity") Boys not performing well or dropping out of school as exams cater to girl's style of learning is part of male privilege. Men having half or more of their wealth taken in a divorce court because the wife said "I'm used to a certain lifestyle" is part of male privilege. Men having almost no custody of their children and never seeing them again is part of male privilege. The skyrocketing male suicide rate is part of male privilege The fact that feminists, who are supposedly "fighting for equality" , are saying things like "'#killallmen", "Put men in concentration camps" is part of male privilege The fact that uselful male dominated subjects like Physics, Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics are being underfunded is because useless "soft science" female dominated courses like Communications, Gender and Women's studies are a higher priority of funding is part of male privilege. The fact that said male dominated subjects are forced to have a certain number of women doing the course, leaving the majority of men that applied laid of and not getting their desired course laid of. Let's say, there's an Engineering course. There are 100 available places. 150 men apply, 50 women apply. Realistically, 96 men and 4 women would be accepted. (64% of men that apply get accepted), (0.08% of women that apply get accepted) Feminists would call this sexist. I don't think so, the majority of men accel at the harder sciences. Not saying men are better than women, I'm saying men are more suited for maths and the hard science for mainly biological reasons.(I will go through it if you'd like me too, but for now I'll try to keep it short). If you wanted an equal representation of the amount of people accepted, it would be, 75 men and 25 women being accepted (50% of men that apply accepted), (50% of women that apply get accepted). Feminists would still call this sexist, because "women are the minority in hard sciences", even though it's 50/50 for the people that apply get accepted, feminists aren't happy because all they see is 75 men and 25 women. What feminists want is 50 or less men and 50 or more women being accepted into the course. Let's just stick with 50/50, looks equal right? If 50 men and 50 women get accepted that would mean. (33.33% of men that apply get accepted), (100% of women that applied get accepted) Now that's sexist, against men. All of the women that applied get accepted and less than 40% of men that apply get accepted, because the college/university was forced by feminists and Social Justice Warrior groups to have an "equal representation of women". This takes place in the workplace as well, companies are forced to have gender quotas to have a certain number of women working otherwise they'll be seen as a "mysoginistic, woman hating, patriarchal, toxic masculine fueled man cave" in public light, which would be detrimental to their sales and profits, in some cases for smaller companies, it would lead them to bankruptcy. Men never had privilege, we just work hard and are rewarded for our work, rightfully so, everything you're using was probably built by a man somewhere, sometime ago. The reason why you think that "male privilege" is something that happens "subconsciously" is because you know that men have achieved great things throughout history, men have built great empires, destroyed great empires, invent the wheel, discovered new lands, built ships, made massive breakthroughs in medicine and science, discovered electricity, harnessing nuclear energy, protected and defended our respective countries in times of need, developed and invented the internet, invented the telephone, hell they even invented tampons. I haven't even gotten into the musical composers and literature geniuses yet, but I'm sure you know that men wrote masterpieces as well.

    In Spain (my country) feminists have created a fascist law (called the "Gender Violence Law") thay literally punishes harder a man who hits his girlfriend than a woman who hits her boyfriend. In addition, they're against paper abortion, they're against shared custody, they're against helping any victim of domestic abuse who is not a straight woman... They even protested when some people a regional government tried a telephone number which would have catered abused men and lesbians too (the current telephone number only caters straight women). If that's not shutting down men, I don't know what it is. And you're saying that they don't do that because ONE feminist talked about male suicide ONE minute in a campaign called HE for SHE. __jocelyn__ 25 Men and women are biologically different... You have to be a serious idiot to be a feminist. All the feminist bullshit can be debunked so easily. Look why are women sluts and men players. Because you need some skill to get a woman in your bed. For a female its the easiest thing ever. Why are women 'objectified'. Look men are objectified too. But less than women. Why is that, because men like to see naked women more than women like to see naked men. Pure biology... Why are 95% of the criminals men? If we follow the feminist logic its because in our culture the bad guys in movies tv shows books etc. are always men. So hollywood is extremely sexist towards men then... We all know thats bullshit, its because men have testosteron which makes them more agressive... Same thing with why there are more men in politics. Men tend to take the lead naturally more than women. (testosteron). Why do men like sports more than women and why do boys play with trucks and girls with dolls? Due to different hormone lvls, has been scientifically proven. Why are there less women in stem fields? Feminist says it is cause of the culture wich is biased. Well lets look at the medicine field then. Very prestigious. Docs make way more than the average computer engineer. And its culture was years back dominated by males and biased against women. Now women dominate medicine. How does it come that women flood some studies and why do they stay away from others while the culture was the same (both male dominated)? Biological diferences. In medicine you have the 'caring for other people' aspect which women love. The wage gap myth has been debunked time after time... Look people there is no injustice in our society towards women... Almost if not all can be explained due to biological differences. Also feminism makes women unhappy. In the 1970's women were happier then in 2017. Research has confirmed this. Also like in more conservative regions with more traditional gender roles women are happier then in liberal regions. Research has also confirmed this. Men are men and women are women. Lets keep it that way

We are equal, men and woman have the same rights. 3rd wave feminism isn’t about equal rights or being treated as functional members of society, it’s about bringing woman above. They have pushed for woman in the military, so they reduced the requirements to get in (for woman) They are injecting sjw ideology into media and entertainment. BFV was a complete screw up for that same reason. They are pushing for abortions, legalising murder, while actively trying to take away our ways of protecting us. Men don’t need feminism. Woman don’t need feminism. Men lose rights to feminism. Woman get pushed higher for no right of their own by feminism.

"Get your shit together and get into rehab, you have a lot of work to do because you have a real problem." *Now..* imagine if I replied, "No, YOU'RE the one with the problem- you just have a hatred of alcoholics and YOU are the asshole." That is EXACTLY how you and all women are when we tell you that you need to get your shit together, explain to you why you're losers and why women never have accomplished anything of any significance and still aren't. And why men invent, build and maintain the entire world. Creep.

    Jeff Bridges without women, you wouldnt be FUCKING alive. We go through 8ish months of torture to give life's so people who end up growing to be great people. Without a mother, much children would be dead from many causes. Second of all just no... Women are much more together than what you are explaining. Do you know who Rosie the riveter is? Without us women you would all be dead. And why the hell are you saying this on a comment about how I love the nationalities on this video?

    Without men you wouldn't be alive, dumb bitch. Men suffer our whole lives from society and we have to hear about women complaining about nine months of pregnancy. Feminism only supports double standards and the abuse of men while victimizing women.

    Gimpli actuly 2 women can have a child dipshit (taking bonemeal from one and inserting it into the other). And if you actuly paid attention to the speech she talked about how feminism affects men. She also talked about how feminism isn't "man hating" but still some people are just too stupid to see that. Yea? Understand? Okay I'm gona go pee now

    I agree with Emma, it's not the word that we should listen to, it's the meaning behind those words that we should act upon #equality

    It's neither about the word nor the meaning behind the word. It's about the actions, what it's being done under its name and the reputation it holds.

    I guess the word she's using is being misunderstood- though feminism is correct by her definition, many people's understanding of it is obscured by the feminist movement. If she hadn't used the word 'feminism' in her speech but adhered to the same meaning, it wouldn't have sparked so much hatred.

    Change it to what? Why should we be scared to use a word that has a definition pertaining to the equal rights of both genders? It's not the word, it's the movement that causes the hatred towards the word that needs to be changed.

    The statesman Edmund Burke said: " All that is needed for the forces of evil to triumph is for good men and women to do nothing." I totally agree with every word of Emma Watson´s speech. Thank you very much for the formal invitation.
