I just completed a 40 hr water fast. I broke it with 1 lb grass-fed ground beef and 2 boiled eggs with lots of salt and the fat from the pan. I know that people shouldn't come off a fast like I do, but my body is use to it and I have no issues. If I was doing a 3 day or longer fast than I would break with bone broth. I keep track of my GKI and it was 2.3 (high therapeutic) when I broke it. Emma is a smart caring young lady with a heart of gold. I feed my dogs a raw diet that I fix myself. No vegetables. I gave my dogs chicken feet the other day and they didn't know what that was, but they ate it... now they can't wait. My 2 cats are another story. They refuse to eat real food. They want the cat food mess. I cut up chicken gizzards and raw ground beef and they turned their noses up to it. Sometimes they will eat chicken liver. I left it out all night and still there this morning. It's a wonder an opossum didn't find it and eat it.

I’ve been lucky with my rescue cats. As I got each rescue kitty over the years, (cats were different ages too, a couple the vet said were “older” cats), as soon as I gave them raw chicken breast (I minced up quick and easy by hand), they LOVED it! The usual demanding kitty appetite seems to be more satisfied, so they are not hungry all the time. Ounce per ounce, it costs me less (than canned cat food), to buy the raw chicken breast and cut it (or use a meat grinder that I now have), and add a raw, pastured egg yolk mixed in if I make a batch of it. One kitty that I rescued loved it, but had to have teeth pulled (they vet told me when I first brought him in when I got him), and after he got them pulled he seemed to like it better cooked and minced up with the gelatin juices mixed in. The other kitty (a much larger cat), loves his raw, minced chicken breast with the egg yolk mixed in (when I do a larger batch so it’s just a little with each serving). He looks so sleek and healthy now, and likes Emma’s kitty, can now do hard mathematics due to the healthy raw carnivore diet! 😂

I've given up explaning to people around me how benifiscial this way of eating is (I tend to get so passionate and won't stop talking LOL) and instead I lead by example. People can SEE the change (primarely losing weight) so they get curious and ask - that's a better opening. Still I'm a a little surprised how many that don't really want to listen when I say quit processed foods, carbs, seed oils and sugar... "oh I could never do that" Makes me sad - but I'd like to think I at least planted a little seed to make them think. I'm not I the point yet where I can excercise (still hate it - too heavy?) but I kind of long for the day when I have the energy and actually want to. Cheers from Sweden //Jonny

@@angieb4631 I just mentioned it, cause its a thing no one talks about, when we talk about how bad are veggies and fruits.. but im witnessed how much of these chemicals being used to "protect" the plants. Tomato was sprayed after every little rain. Gliphosate was used every 2-3 weeks around the radishes and carrots. Mospilan and Signum used on fruit trees even if theres only a few greenflys are seen. Crazy amounts.. it was mixed up in big barrels. With different toxic symbols on it. I felt we workin in nuclear industry, not food industry.

Emma, I think your dad is correct, you should start out slow with water-fasting. You're young still, fairly healthy still, and still growing in many ways. If you start fasting too much, it could cause your hormones to go out of whack and could possibly effect your thyroid in a negative manner. If you want to safely start doing long water-fasts, I highly recommend reading Dr. Mindy Pelz's book "Fast Like A Girl" and learn how to properly fast to your menstrual cycle so you don't harm your body. This book would be beneficial for your mom, sisters, and friends as well, for any female really. You're all doing so well, very proud of your whole family! God Bless!

Totally agree! Most commercial sunscreen is toxic. I don't use sunscreen usually but when I do I use a mineral based one (non-nano zinc based). Also not eating seed oils helps the skin have "built in sunscreen". Crazy little thing- but wearing sunglasses while in the sun confuses the eye/body and makes you burn faster as well.

Hate me for this comment, but Emma stop with the fasts! You are still developing as a young woman and idea of doing multiple day fasts twice a week?! No! Day or 2-day fast once a month? That’s better idea as Kerry mentioned. The idea of rest days is to allow the body to heal and regrow after intense exercise. You need nutrients during rest as well so fasting during rest days sounds safer based on your recent fast, but still not perfect for body to “rest” and recover! Wishing you all the best best! ❤

I would rather start with inspiration. I had a 2 cheat days yesterday and day before with a can of pineapple and pasta with cream of mushroom soup I had sitting for 2 years. Broke AF. I should have just ate my last stick of butter. I cheat myself. I had a job interview yesterday tho so will be able to get back on track. The food industry is stacked against poor people. It is so cheap to eat pasta/rice and canned fruit. It is going to take me forever to get back into ketosis, BUT I WILL.

Beautiful_Days… I hear ya about being on a tight budget and I just wanted to give you some ideas as to how to do carnivore as cheaply as possible. Here are some things you can buy and eat that don’t cost a lot and taste great: Ground Beef (get the 73%/27% beef, the higher the fat content, the less it costs and you want the high fat ground beef!!) Eggs (Buy them in bulk if you can afford it, they are usually a bit cheaper that way) Bologna and Hot dogs (these are very low cost and are perfectly fine to eat on a daily basis. The ones that are made with pork/chicken/turkey are the lowest price.. beef ones are a bit more money) Sardines packed in Olive Oil (these babies are POWERHOUSES of nutrition, and are an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids and if you can stomach the whole sardines with the skin and bones, they contain even more nutrition and calcium) Cheese (make sure it’s not ultra processed cheese. Get real cheese) Chicken thighs and drumsticks (I’ve seen these as low as .99 cents per lb on sale, get the whole pieces that includes the skin and bones) Pork chops (another delicious and low cost option, can find them in sale for $1.99-$2.99 per lb on sale) Vienna Sausages (these are inexpensive, come packed in a can, and very tasty!!) Good luck!!😊😊

Not only have I been carnivore 18 months now, but I have REVERSED type 2 diabetes and hi blood pressure. I'm 66 yrs old and am up to walking 3.5 miles a day, after having a stroke.bc my blood sugar had become so sky high. Annnnd...my doggo eats fresh raw. He's going to be 7 in 2 mos, and he has as much strength and energy as a dog half his age. And yes he eats ***RAW*** chicken bones. NEVER EVER NEVER give your dog cooked bones. My vet feeds her 3 dogs fresh raw also. If you are going to switch your dog to fresh raw, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!! I can't stress this strongly enough. EDIT: {EMMA I WROTE THIS B4 U SAID U GAVE YOUR CAT CHICKEN. HERE I'M REFERRING TO A GUY WHO GRINDS UP JUST CHICKEN FOR HIS DOG. I WAS IN NO WAY TSLKING ABOUT YOU!!} ! You CANNOT feed your dog only raw chicken!!! I don't care what some youtubers say or do. That is not proper nutrition for your dog. They will DIE from vitamin and mineral deficiency. I do strongly encourage every pet owner to feed their pet fresh raw, BUT YOU MUST DO YOUR RESEARCH, AND DO IT PROPERLY. Our pets are family members and are dependent upon US to do right by them. As with anything in life, if you're gonna do something, DO IT RIGHT, not half-assed. Please do not continue to feed your pets dry kibble. It's killing them.

Time Restricted Eating may work better for Emma as a 'way of working' -- she's young, already transitioned to carnivore so will be in a state of autophagy most of the time due to carbohydrate restriction. However the 'time off' from digestion is extremely important to incorporate into your daily life. Maybe a time window of 10am - 6pm or whatever works best for her schedule - goal is to give your body at least 14 hours without needing to digest anything. 12:51 the issue with 'crap on your skin' is something I think folks are starting to twig to -- skin is the largest organ! Thanks for sharing Emma!!❤🎉

Awesome story, and happy to hear you are all well. One thing people always misunderstand is your body needs time to recuperate, replenish, and rebuild after any strenuous exercise. I was influenced by the bodybuilder Mike Mentzer when I was younger, who emphasized that you must give your body the TIME it needs to replenish it's needs (amino acids, fats, etc.), and rebuild muscle tears (from weight training, HIIT, etc.) after any workout. And it may take more than a day off to do so. You may need 2, 3, or 4+ days for this wonderful thing to happen, your body getting STRONGER. It went against the grain at the time of established thinking that you had to train every day, with little hydration, and work many, many sets to exhaustion. Don't push it, give it the rest it needs and it will not let you down. Thankyou for your beaut videos too. Love them all. 🥩🥓🍳 🧈🧂

You would think I could have said something but what can you say to a vet that thinks this way. My wife thinks that yes dogs and wolves could live on meat back then but the meat now is not good. So now our dog lives on (scratch that) is fed dog food fortified with vegetables and fruit and plant antioxidants. All the catch phrases that get a product sold.
