Emma is such a gem. Shes gone from doing wonderful teen movies to getting to pour her soul into art pieces and cinematic masterpieces. I'm so happy for her being able to play the role and get this honor.

"Easy A"? That was her seventh or eighth movie. Her breakout roles were in "Superbad" and "Zombieland".

@@KaitainCPS Bruhther, not so. You need to see "The House Bunny." She's not the lead, but she steals every scene she's in. I'm sure she was in films before that. (IMDB...) Well shut my mouth. Super bad was 2007, House Bunny -08, and Zombie land -09. I knew her first film role was in the TV movie Partridge Family reboot (2005) but I never saw it. I didn't remember her being in Super Bad, I haven't seen it since it came out, but she stood out in The House Bunny.

"Bella falls in love with life itself rather than a person and she accepts the good and the bad in equal measure...all of it counts and all of it is important"-this is the only advice for life anyone really needs. A weird and wonderful movie and Emma was brilliant as Bella, and Mark Ruffalo as Duncan was also brilliant.

That was one weird movie, if you really think about it the movie was about pedophilia. The brain of a child in the body of a grown woman, with child-like mannerisms having sex with multiple men to discover herself. This movie would be an argument to prove that people in Hollywood are pedophiles.

I genuinely believe that Emma Stone is something the movie industry never had or rarely had before (again if it ever), and needs more than ever. She's genuine, she has character, she's no arrogant, she has her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds, she knows how to work, she explores her limits and I could go on with these, but bottom line is that Im pretty sure that *she's real,* in a time when almost everyone in this industry is or seems fake. I wish her all the best.

As a fellow Yorgos who lives in the US, I was delighted when she said "Yorgo" when she referred to him. It's a subtle, complex Greek syntax thing that we don't really mind let go uncorrected but we always appreciate when folks take the time to learn and say correctly.

I was just about to comment that. No matter how many times I try to correct my English speaking friends, it is difficult for them to remember. I think that's a minor hint of the close relationship between Lanthimos and Emma.

The first time I saw her was in Superbad. And I was like "who is this girl? She's has such a beautiful smile".

After seeing it once by myself, then two more times (with a beloved friend each time), I have spent some time learning about some of the complexities around the cinematography. I will be seeing it on the big screen again tomorrow so that I can really take in the technology, the artistry, and the absolute beauty of this whole incredible film. It is a visual feast on the big screen. This movie feels like a love letter to the entire art of cinema!

I don't usually care about actors in movies beyond their roles but I had to search about this woman after I watched Easy A, she sounds and looks such a wonderful person. Her acting was amazing. I'm glad to see that she actually has huge recognition, I hope that she gets more by keeping acting in more movies, hopefully more mainstream movies these days.

Just remember that Glen Close has 8 nominations and never won. Amy Adams has 6 with no wins. Michele Williams has 5 nominations and Saoirse Ronan 4 and no wins for either. It will be nice for Emma if she gets a second Oscar but doesn't always happen that the best actors win.@@gabriel-wc2nu
